COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An array of brown, roasted, and biscuit malts create this rich and malty ale. An extended two hour boil develops caramelized flavors as well as its dark color. A small addition of peat smoked barley adds a slight smoky flavor.

Draft - Caramel and light. Utterly notes. Clear Amber with a decent white head. Creamy and nutty caramel. Great Amber or brown but I don’t get the smoke and peat.

On draft at the brewery. Dark clear amber pour, with an off white head. Caramel malt, mildly fruity, some sugar, and a bit watery. Ok.

Draft pour at the brewery. Pours a nice bronze color with little head. A nice caramel malt aroma with a bit of espresso. Semi smokey flavor with some nice sweet malt in the finish. Loved this beer. Great stuff

Bottle. Nose is bready and caramel with just a hint of some chocolate in there as well. Taste is a little sweet and very smooth, with some wood and caramel in there. Nice brew.

fhoublon (461) - Lachine, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 7, 2014
Dégustée (bouteille) le 30 mai 2013 au Mondial de la Bière 2013 à Montréal (D7C3KPPPi). Bière brune limpide. Col mince assez durable. Peu effervescente, bulles fines.

3.9
Caytinator (1005) - Waco, Texas, USA - SEP 14, 2013
Pint on tap. Super-brown, clear, big off-white head, laces well. Aroma is pretty light, but still good. Nice taste, very complex, in-line with the style, I can taste the smokiness when i’m looking for it, but it’s definitely light. Nice warm palate, especially right before the aftertaste hits. I love scotch ales!

8/15/2011: Port Townsend Scotch... Fruity smoke (obviously peated), molasses; needs a bit more malt and body; decent overall.

Draught at Port Townsend Brewing Company in Port Townsend, WA. Rating #70 for this beer.

bottle at mondial de la bière, mtl. clear light brown-reddish with a decent light beige head, some retention/lacing. lightly smoked and almost burnt malts, caramel and dark fruitiness, some spices and cherries. restrained sweetness. soft carbonation, medium body - oily, nice grassy-lightly smoked finish. not outstanding but well executed scoth ale.
