Brown with a very thin off white head. Aroma is brown sugar, caramel, toffee, alcohol. Taste has a light hoppiness to it which was unexpected, some caramel sweetness, with alcohol and dried fruit. JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - DEC 13, 2007
Mildly funky caramel apple aroma. Hazy chestnut amber in color with little head. Kind of a nice sipper with flavors of caramel malts, honey like sweetness, and a zing of hops at the finish. Overall, tough to finish the bomber. Thank Andre. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - SEP 20, 2007
poured a rich amber with a boisterous head. sweet dates, honey and toffee on the nose. delicate flavor, the classic warmth stands out here. Not over the top at all. robforbes (2246) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - SEP 13, 2007
pours a cloudy dark burnt amber, with little to no head and many tiny little bubbles.

Bottle: Dark mahogany, light head. The nose is hoppy and spicy with some earthy malt, rye, spice and brown sugar. The flavor is malty, light caramel, sweet plum and grass. The finish is medium bodied. nice.

Bottle: Musty copper brown with a smaller head. Nose is mild of fruits and malty sweetness. Flavor is fruity with citrus and apple. A bit on the sweet side, but still good. Thanks Buckdich. hopdog (12673) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2007
22oz bottle acquired in trade with Larry Pitonka (thanks!). Poured a medium and cloudy copperish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, caramel and a little floral. Tastes of grapefruit, fruity, light and light caramel. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 5, 2006
Blind tasting. Light brown w/ good head. Big chunks in glass....Big grapefruit aroma and taste. More balanced than I expected from the aroma. Bitter hops at the end. Good thickness. Really enjoyed this one...funny that all 3 of us that rated it blind seemed to enjoy it, while most other ratings on here are pretty low. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - NOV 26, 2006
Bottled. Blind tasting. Pours a cloudy copper with a full tan head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit. Medium body and carbonation. Taste starts lightly sweet with oranges, pine, grapefruit, and resin at the end. This is apparently an English Strong Ale that wanted to be an IPA. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - NOV 25, 2006
Bottle--blind tasting, at that. Pours a clear medium copper, thick tan head. Huge sweet fruitily hoppy nose. Body’s a little higher than medium, but not much. Active carb. Straong caustic resin-y hop bite on the mid-palate and the finish. Big strong crisp hop flavors throughout, complex but still refreshing.
