COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our secret weapon. A fulsome, winsome strong ale. A deep copper tinged brew for the true aficionado, longer fermentation and thrice hopping bring about a complex soft bitterness allied to a malt induced sweetness with the characteristic oily Fuggles hop perfume. Not just for students. Once "stuffed" savour the flavour of a glass as a digestif... True "Aroma-therapy".

Grain: Pale Malt, Roast Barley, Black Malt, Flaked Barley.
Hops: Galena, Nugget, East Kent Goldings.

Bottled. Pours clear, deep amber with an average, lacing off-white head. Aroma of caramel, orange notes and herbal hops. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A nice Ale.

exeter (533) - calgary, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 31, 2014
Poured a nice clear brown colour with 1 finger on head and ok lacing. Biscuit malts, caramel & confectionery, fruit, and a hoppy punch near the end. It’s quite sweet.

Draught, small creamy stable head, clear burgundy red colour, aroma of caramel, demerara sugar, toffee and some biscuit, flavour of caramel and biscuit with some fruity hints, pleasant light bitterness which blends with the strong malty traits, silky texture. Nice sipping beer, great match with fruit based deserts.

erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - JUL 2, 2014
Amber bodied and stable head. Odd middle between dusty hops, cough drop, cereal and amber malts, thrown together with a biscuity yeast. Not what I expected or wanted at the moment, but not horrible. Taste is more with a plan, it seems, fairly bitter yet classic still. Not horrible, but not in style either. Didn’t set me on fire. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

DuffMan (10278) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 19, 2014
Bottle. Deep red-copper body, thick off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts and light phenols (band-aid). Sweet caramel malts, lightly toasty, ascerbic bitterness. Harsh finish. Disappointing.

superspak (5514) - Michigan, USA - JUN 11, 2014
330 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep ruby copper color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, raisin, apple, pear, toast, brown sugar, light roast, bread, herbal, woodiness, and toast/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, raisin, pear, apple, toast, brown sugar, bread, toffee, light roast, herbal, woodiness, and toast/yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy/woody bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, raisin, pear, apple, toast, brown sugar, bread, toffee, light roast, herbal, woodiness, and toast/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, earthy hop, and fruity yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth, lightly creamy, and fairly crisp/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice Engish strong ale. Good complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth to sip on. This bottle was lightly oxidized, but was a nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle tasted on 04/06/2014. Dark coppercolour with a beige head. Some sweet notes of caramel and some hops on the aroma. Taste is strong with bready malts and bitter herbs. Carbonation is Ok. I enjoy a lot the degustation of this beer. Very drinkable and refreshing. Next one please!
