Bottle tasted on 04/06/2014. Dark coppercolour with a beige head. Some sweet notes of caramel and some hops on the aroma. Taste is strong with bready malts and bitter herbs. Carbonation is Ok. Bottle with clip top from Wine and Cheese in Clayton, MO. as Braonblásta. Pours very dark copper with a beige head. Aroma is herbal/spicy. Med body at least. Flavor is woody with spice and herb. The flavor is strong. Seems to get a bit earthy. Really tasty UK style ale.

Rich brown with thick pillowy head. Aroma is alcohol, nutty and caramel malts. Sipping it is definitely malt-heavy - nuts and toffee. Some hop aroma - mostly floral...but basically it’s a malt story. 330ml brown bottle. Dark orange pour, creamy tan foam on top with some sticky lacing. Nose has some sweet notes of caramel and sponge candy and some hops. Taste has toffee malts and a bit of chocolate, citrus hops. Medium bitterness, earth and grass aftertaste. Medium bodied with a mild carbonation. On tap at Fraunces Tavern. Something of an Irish attempt at an American DIPA, or an over-the-top boozy bitter. Appearance is promising, with a brilliant copper red color with a thin white head. Nose is odd, a little sour, a little grass, some hops. Taste is strong giggles hops, a little too one note. Would like either more malt backbone or more citrusy/piney variety hops. Not bad at all, but a little disappointing.
