COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our secret weapon. A fulsome, winsome strong ale. A deep copper tinged brew for the true aficionado, longer fermentation and thrice hopping bring about a complex soft bitterness allied to a malt induced sweetness with the characteristic oily Fuggles hop perfume. Not just for students. Once "stuffed" savour the flavour of a glass as a digestif... True "Aroma-therapy".

Grain: Pale Malt, Roast Barley, Black Malt, Flaked Barley.
Hops: Galena, Nugget, East Kent Goldings.

Bottle tasted on 04/06/2014. Dark coppercolour with a beige head. Some sweet notes of caramel and some hops on the aroma. Taste is strong with bready malts and bitter herbs. Carbonation is Ok. I enjoy a lot the degustation of this beer. Very drinkable and refreshing. Next one please!

Clear red brown pour with a thick white head. Malty aroma with grain and some maple. Strong flavor with lots of malt. Some hops, but a bit funky with some unpleasant flavors.

WheatKing (1338) - Phnom Penh, CAMBODIA - JUN 3, 2013
Pours brown (though very clear). Off-white head. Nose of EKG, caramel. Flavour is quite bitter for the style, dust, caramel, great malt strength, hoppy fruitiness. The finish is surprisingly bitter with a hint of alcohol, earth, soap. Good if you’re a fan of EKG.

xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - SEP 21, 2009
On nitro at the brewpub. Reddish copper with creamy off-white head and nice lacing. Big dirty grapefruit and spicey hop aroma with off-dry caramel, resiny citrus and a little blood orange. Flavor is fresh, resiny citrus and not as bitter grapefruit as the aroma, dry, pretty big, almost astringent bitterness, nice though. Medium, creamy body. Very tasty.

Dublin ’03: Had this beer many times while I was in Ireland. Very smooth, not as complex as advertised, but hides the alcohol very nicely. Deep amber color with a nice hoppy & floral sweet aroma. Malty sweet flavor with some hints of fruit.

Tap, Porterhouse London. Copper, thin white head. Quite sweet nose, some sweet dark fruit to hide alcohol. Mouth is quite sweet, some fruit and a touch of dry hop. Spices. Leaves a slightly coating sweetness. Hides alcohol well.

Gangstergafje (1184) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - APR 29, 2015
Beautiful deep red color. The foam is rough and disappears quickly. The smell is great. It is really sour, it has something of sour cream and strawberries. There are also some other red fruits, like berries. The taste is incredible. There is apple and other fruits, really sweet but it also has a beery bitterness. It is a beer like no other.

HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - JAN 13, 2013
330ml bottle. Aroma is a dark caramel malt and a touch of booze. Pour is a reddish brown, filtered, moderate tan head. Dark roasty malt and earthy hops. Medium body. Overall, kind of a light barley wine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
