Our secret weapon. A fulsome, winsome strong ale. A deep copper tinged brew for the true aficionado, longer fermentation and thrice hopping bring about a complex soft bitterness allied to a malt induced sweetness with the characteristic oily Fuggles hop perfume. Not just for students. Once "stuffed" savour the flavour of a glass as a digestif... True "Aroma-therapy".

Grain: Pale Malt, Roast Barley, Black Malt, Flaked Barley.
Hops: Galena, Nugget, East Kent Goldings.

At Cerveceria Internacional. Lunch with David. With russian salad + bratwurst + chorizo picante with rochefort montadito. In tulip glass. Some caramel but a very boring and flat brew. Served too cold. Had no foam, was it in good shape?

Overly bitter unfortunately. Not advertised as an ipa on their menu in London, but it is, and lacking malt to back it up. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a reddish orange color with a light head. Light hop aroma. A nice strong malt forward flavor. Notes: St Patrick’s Day visit ’10

My Bottom Line:
Added sugars and alcohol warmth catch the palate off guard, as leafy hop bitterness and fruity esters eventually succeed in gaining the most interest.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sumptuous head of foam crowns the deep amber shine.
-Alcohol should not be perceived at this strength.
-Mouthfeel is soft and lean.
-This drinks like a mediocre Belgian-style Strong Ale, but without the characterful yeast.

A fruity and sweet aroma, also light medical. The small white creamy head has a long duration, the body is dark red. A quite bitter and medical taste. The body is medium strong, very creamy with a lively carbonation.

Poured from an 11.2 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is an amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma is made up of toffee, hops and sweet fruit with a strong alcohol smell. The taste is mostly hops and sweet malt. A really good English Strong Ale.

50 cl. bottle. Low but lasting fluffy light brown head. Clear dark amber body. Acidic to sour fruity lemon aroma and flavor with a good deal of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long bitter finish.

Clear mahogany color with beige head. Aroma is malty with dark sugar and caramel notes. Taste is bittersweet and roasty. Body is quite light and fizzy. Not bad but there’s not much going on.

Rich toffee/mince pie/caramel nose. Big sweet/caramel malts with slight bitter finish. Nicely flavoured, nicely balanced. Tastes stronger than 6.5%!
