Mooi zwart, wat te dun schuim. Ruikt nu nog vooral de chocola van de toetjes.. Maar is er toch ook wel echt. Smaakt een beetje alcoholisch. Jammer.. Ook beetje veel carbo, en gebrand bitter.

Bottle from Bradleys. Almost black pour with a tan head. Roasty chocolate aroma. Dry, malty flavour with hints of chocolate. Kind of cloying finish.

Usually I connect Irish stouts with dry stout and creamy snow-white foam. This stout is different, because the foam is firm and nougat color and aroma far more marked than in the somewhat weak flavored dry stouts. The smells of roasted malt and coffee, and the taste is strong coffee with a little water in nature against the end. A nice stout, which is definitely one to be enjoyed.

Bottle in the Porterhouse Temple Bar. Pours black with a good beige head. Mild sweet treacle aroma. Searved a little over cold, but the flavour still came through as mild spice with liquorice. Some fruitiness also. Quite high carbonation and a relatively thin body fort he style. Decent beer, but not a great imp.

Bottle. Black, tan head. Roasty, spft slight dry chocolately malty nose. Med full bodied, quite light for the abv, smooth with a dryish roasty soft ashy finish. Flavourful, nice, but feels more just strong stouty than imperial.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Deep brown with small brown head. Aroma of milk chocolate and licorice with some roastiness. Flavor of milk chocolate and licorice, medium, hoppy bitterness, notes of soy sauce and herbs, grainy with some lemon, some roastiness, dry. Lively carbonation, medium to full-bodied.

It’s a celebration, so… …Nose – break out the dark chocolate / Bourbon biscuits! …Flavour – espresso martinis all round! …Body – Lots richer than Plain Porter or Oyster Stout. Slight salty seawater tang.

33cl bottle - Poured black with big beige head. Aroma - dark chocolate and coffee - Taste - dark chocolate, espresso with moderate roasted notes - no bitterness but not sweet either. Hides the 7.5% well.
