Bottle. Black beer with a strong soon disappearing fizzy head. The aroma is fairly strongly coffee and vinous, and the flavour is very well roasted with a malty and vinous bitter finish. Overall a good very strongly flavoured stout.

Bottle at The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Black as hell body thin beige head. Woody vinous aroma. Some whiskey. Aroma like a good oloroso sherry. Woody. Yes too woody. Bug slap of alcohol and vanilla and just too much dry wood. Almost too much. The thing is there is a really good beer beneath this but the wood is too much now and will only grow. It is like licking a plank of pine wood and its too much. Its a decent little impy stout but the barrel ageing hasnt helped it too much as the plank overwhelms the fruit. Still its decent if a touch too woody fiulijn (20372) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 27, 2012

Black color; medium sized head. Mild aroma of chocolate, vanilla, liquor, wood. Excellent flavor, it tastes like a chocolate filled with liquor, and vanilla, with a touch of liquorice; very rich; moderate sweetness; in the final there is some liquorice and tar, and very light malt sourness. Nice alcohol warmth.
Excellent beer, with a vibe.

Bottle at Leighton’s Beer, Bocce and Boozer tasting, thanks to the man himself. It pours deep ruby, with a thick beige head. The nose is sweet caramel, toast, roasted malt and malt vinegar. The taste is roasted malt, caramel, dark fruit, toast, earth and coffee, with a warming finish. Medium-Full body and average carbonation. A solid Imperial stout.

Bottle at the Beer, Bocce and Boozer tasting, London. Thanks Bruce! Pours black-brown with a cream, beige head. Boozy cocoa nose with some faint plastic, earth and roasted malts. Nice flavor, though, and potent. Medium roast with booze-soaked wood, scorched earth, burnt malts. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, very woody, some burnt earth, a bit more booze, mild cocoa. Decent stuff. jackl (8013) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 15, 2012

Clear dark black colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, caramel, alcohol, licorice, vanilla, wood. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate to light light heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle, bought @ LIVA, Kolding.
Completely black with a firm, staying, creamy, beige head. Lovely aroma, whiskey, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, mild liqourice. A hint of berries. Soft carbonation, creamy and dry mouthfeel. Flavour is elegantly oaky, lots of sweet whiskey, dark chocolate, murmurs of coffee, vanilla, vinious. Chewy malts. Very lovely, lingering bitter dry oakiness. Lovely.
