This stuff’s pretty good. Purchased at the Red Apple in Eugene Oregon in a 22oz bottle for $1.99. For the price this is a steal because it’s comparable to some of the other American Belgian style ales and in some aspects exceeds many of them in taste. The rose hip flavor might throw a few people off but it’s actually quite pleasant. Tastes of banana bread and sour apple. Great price to value ratio. moosenix (3) - Oregon, USA - SEP 15, 2014 does not count
I loveee this beer. I’m a moderate beer drinker so I’m no expert. Pours Amber and the aroma is so yummy. Didn’t get bitter at the end. Surprisingly big rose flavor. Reid (2587) - Salem, Oregon, USA - JAN 26, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2013 The old Portland Brewing moniker has been revived!
22oz bottle from Roth’s Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem.
Pours a dark golden with a rosy tint especially in the generous head.
Estery ,spicy, banana wheat aromas, slight semi-vegetal fruitiness if that makes any sense!
Taste is semi dry with definate rose hip tones ( used to eat rose hip skins back in Scotland as a kid),vegetal, slight black peppercorn, then a slight plum taste. Altogether quite complex yet light.
Nice palate for the style..its light enough to aid drinkability.
I liked this one quite a bit..but the rose hip tastes might be off putting to some. bpreo (2881) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - FEB 7, 2013
Brand new Belgian Style Ale with Rose Hips added in the batch. I think Rose Hips are a sleep aid. Hmmm, maybe I should not be drinking this one so early on. bhensonb (15490) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 20, 2013
Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours hazy amber gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is pretty floral. Med minus body. Flavor is hard to describe. It’s floral. I get some rose. It’s also Belgian yeast/spice. Wasn’t getting banana ester, but now I do. I’m beginning to think one could find anything in this. I’m beginning to think the rose wasn’t. Not so flavorful as an earthy Belgian, but very tasty in a rather light way. Finishing sort of citrously bitter. Good ale.

Banana-like and floral aroma. Nice yeast character in flavor; spicy, fruity. Light caramel and biscuit--enough to give it some balance. Finishes sweeter... A little too much, probably. Gription79 (2891) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - FEB 15, 2013
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a golden amber. Restricted Belgian yeast character is the first thing I notice. Sweet malts, grainy, spicy. This whole beer is subtle. There is some astringency/tannins possibly from the rose hops. This is a standard Pyramid brewed beer. Meh. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Pleasant beer. Bright-gold hue; quickly fading head. Soft and fluffy texture. Cakey and doughy malt flavors; faint earthiness. Gentle aromas of herbs, perfumes and flowers. Banana and bubblegum in the back. Light, peppery bitterness. pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - FEB 28, 2013
From bottle. Fairly weak and bland on first taste. Opened up nicely, though, with banana, light floral notes, and slight yeasty finish. AcctError123848 (778) - USA - MAR 2, 2013
Deep gold, clear, off-white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, with slight spice. Flavor of pilsner malt, moderate spicy phenols, and more floral/perfumy notes with a little citrus.
