Cask Pint at Edward Rayne (JDW), Raynes Park in Jan 2017 - Very Dark Brown. Good creamy tan head. Roasty malts, coffee, chocolate. Hint of something sweet in the taste but I wouldn’t have guessed marshmallow. I expected/feared that a sweet stout with marshmallows would be overwhelmingly sweet but mercifully it wasn’t. Moderately bitter roasty malty. Surprisingly dry. OK. Drinkable. (2017-02) Cokemonkey11 (998) - - FEB 22, 2017
Cask, Spoons. Pours black with a medium tan foam residing. Scent is scentless. Taste is nice soft milk Stout with flavors of some herbs but really it’s just an average ale. Good. downender (8729) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2017
Cask-conditioned at the Red Lion & Pineapple (JDW), Acton 30/1/2017. Near black in colour, with a frothy, off-white, head. Aroma of charred malts and milk chocolate. Flavour had roasted malts, more sweet chocolate and a hint of spice, before a thin, slightly sweet, finish. Ok. evergreen0199 (3441) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 8, 2017
Cask at The Metropolitan ’Wetherspoons’, Baker Street, London. A black coloured pour with a medium creamy off white head on top. Roasty, chocolate, aroma. Tastes roasty, chocolate, ashy and quite bitter. Pretty good stout but not picking up any marshmallow. Leighton (21853) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2017
Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW - London. Pours deep, unclear brown with a frothy, tan head. The nose has some ashy roast, burnt toast, some cocoa. Light sweet flavour with strong bitter ashy roast, baking cocoa, scorched earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Strongly bitter finish, slightly astringent, with more baking cocoa, tangy burnt wood, ash. So so overall.

Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall London as Portobello Squidge Stout, 4.5%. Good name. Black with a red hue, foamy light brown head. Aroma is chocolate cake, chocolate sauce etc. Appealing. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is sugary, ashy, not as rich as the aroma, a touch metallic. Overall, I thought it was a pretty flavourful beer. More bitter and ashy than you might expect from the description.
