Cask conditioned handpump Marquis London 05/07/13. An amber coloured beer. Not good. Vinegary acidity. Fruits. Reasonable enough body but the flavours are all wrong. This pub always has a Portobello or two on so even if this is the pubs fault the beer takes a hit for being here.

A classic English bitter and I did like it. Biscuit, bitter hops, soft malt, low carbonation and a pleasant mouthfeel. There was also a surprising and welcome complexity to the beer and it was well integrated. What’s not to like?

[email protected], Streatham Common, London (11/03/2017) - pours amber with a white head. Aroma and taste is toasted and sweet malty, some sweet caramel and toffee notes, slight peachy and apricot accents, twiggy and grassy hoppy into the finish.

Lacking aroma but is clear and smooth on tongue. Quite sweet, caramel flavours from the malt, not massively hoppy. Very drinkable as a session beer

Tap, Queens Head, Weybridge. Vinegar aroma, which also comes through in to taste? Off? Otherwise basic bland bitter.

Idiosynkrasie (7970) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - NOV 3, 2016
500ml bottle. Clear, pale amber colour with average, thick, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Floral, minimally fruity, hoppy aroma, a cautious touch of peach. Taste is moderately bitter, slightly husky, floral hoppy overtones, cautious hints of peach.

Hermod (8349) - Vantaa, FINLAND - OCT 1, 2016
Cask @ Angleterre. Mahogany color, thin white head. Nutty, tart, vinegary nose. Tart, berries, vinegary notes in flavor. A beer in bad shape unfortunately.

planky84 (3429) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 10, 2016
Cask at the Hare and Billet, Blackheath. Amber pour with a white head. Honey, vanilla and apricot jam aroma. Crisp, sweet fruit action on the palate. Quaffable stuff.

ManVsBeer (10951) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2016
Cask @ The Swan, Bloomsbury, London. Copper-gold with a thin head. Sweet, sugary malts, a lingering bitterness.

Cimbasso (1007) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2016
On draught at the John Baird, Muswell Hill. Aroma of malt and the colour is a dark copper with a thin white head. Taste is of toffee and berry fruit. Medium better finish, but very slightly sour finish in this instance. Quite drinkable, nonetheless.
