COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cream Ale (first brewed 1994; occasional release). This unfiltered ale is golden in color, medium light in body and moderate in the hop character. Cream ale is made by using ale yeast fermented at colder temperatures (like a lager). The colder ferment causes a slower, more gradual fermentation and a smoother flavor with only a very subtle fruity flavor. Cream ale is a hybrid style; it has traits of both ale and lager.

Sampler from brewery. Cloudy straw color, smallish head. Grainy. Not "creamy" but very grainy with a mild citrus bite. Heavily carbonated, maybe a tad too much. Pretty good.

Bottle from the brewery shop. Pours a medium golden color with a huge creamy bubbly bone white head that persists forever. Aromas of floral and earthy hops with a fair amount of bready pilsner maltiness and a light touch of fruit and corn. The flavor is clean bready with a touch of honey and corn on the malt side with a solid shot of earthy hop flavor. Light hop bitterness is present but doesn’t let this on skew from the malty side. Light to medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet sugar watery mouthfeel. Solid cream ale, I really enjoyed this!

Draft, served in a pint. Clear yellow, steady layer of foam with great retention. Easy sweet malt, grain and a moderate hop in the finish to help balance it. The hops play well with the grain. Texture / mouthfeel follow this style. Simple beer in a simple style. The Brew master; does a wonderful job making a simple, light style desirable.
