Cloudy amber pour with a thin white head. Average aroma of resinous, fruity hops. Good flavor of resinous, fruity hops, caramel and bitterness. It’s not bad, but I feel it lacks a little something to really please my tastebuds. wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 8, 2010
Tasted from bomber bottle obtained in a trade. Pours cloudy burnt orange with a thin white head that leaves decent lacing. Smell is grapefruit hops up front with a solid malt backbone, and a hint of tropical fruits. Flavor is nicely bitter all the way through with some caramel malt and solid citrus and tropical fruits. The body is full and somewhat sticky with light carbonation and a very long bitter finish. There is most definitely some alcohol in this beer, and it could be masked a little better. Deep reddish orange color and beautiful two finger head. Lacing like a spider web covered every square centimeter of the glass. I had this one right after the 5C IPA, and despite this one being higher abv, was much milder and more drinkable. Flavor was grapefruits and tangerine flavored hops, moderate level of bitterness and fruity malt sweet. Mouthfeel was smooth but now watery. The alcohol presence was noticeable without any burn. Nice. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - APR 25, 2010
Thanks to straffordmilitia on BA for this one! Nice copper pour, with a moderate head, fairly lively carbonation. Aroma is sharp and grassy, with a bit of sweet citrus coming on late in the snort. Medium bodied, less prickly than I imagined given the carbonation. There’s a sweet jolt in there for sure, but it’s not overly malty, a good thing given how delish the bitter hops are. Dry finish, nice DIPA overall. 5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - DEC 21, 2009
Bottle:   Deep amber in color, sediment is heavy, head off-white, huge and rocky, lacing is very sticky.   Sweet rind on the nose, pale floral, soft hop & pine.   Smells delish!   Somewhat of a soft alcoholic hop bite at the start, without a big malt backside.   Lingering rind and pine needles.   Not overly bitter, but enough to warrant more malts that aren’t there.   Seems more of a 1½ IPA.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Clean finish, lingering bitterness.   Warming, but not overly alcoholic.   Very flavorful, but could stand to be a bit bigger and stickier.   Otherwise, it was rather enjoyable.   Thanks Jeff!

Pours a beautiful copper dark orange with a two finger white. Aroma of citrus and floral hops. Nice balance of hops and caramel malt. Medium bodied. Bitterness is very nice with a nice malty sweet finish. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - AUG 21, 2009
The aroma has a good deal of hops, probably a little less fresh than it once was, but it smelled nice nonetheless. Grapefruit, lime, and some floral notes followed by caramel malt, bread, and some dusty yeast as well. Pours a unfiltered orange brown with a nice frothy head and sticky-icky lacing. The flavor is very well balanced with a good deal of caramel sweetness followed by grapefruit and lime hop flavors, floral and grass notes, and a hint of dust. Lingering dry somewhat oily finish. 9% is hidden extremely well. Enjoyable brew. Thanks to damienblack on the other site for the trade. oteyj (2138) - New Hampshire, USA - JUN 30, 2009
Amber pour with nice one finger off white froth. Aroma is very floral and sweet with lots of fruit and some grassy notes. Flavor is on the sweeter side with lots of fruity notes and and a very manageable resinous quality. Very fresh. Palate is medium with lip smacking sugary finish. Yummy. Amber pour slight head, good lacing. Fruity aromas with nice floral hops. Mouthful is sweet and fruity with really nice floral/citrus hops profile. Really well balanced and yummy. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 30, 2009
Amber pour with a white head, very nice lacing. Aroma was nicely balanced with fruit, citrus hops, and floral notes. Flavor was similar and quite good, with a nice full palate. Yummy DIPA, on tap at the brewery.
