Clownoisseur (476) - Buchanan, Michigan, USA - JUN 13, 2014
2012 bottle. Pours nearly pitch black with some copper hues and a thin mocha cap on top. Breaks into minimal lacing and has some nice legs to it. Aromas of dark fruit sweetness, brown sugar, roasted coffee and a subtle spice. Taste is bold roasted malt, coffee, bitter chocolate and anise upfront. Some oak, subtle spice, raisin and leather come across the middle. The finish is nice and long. Anise, plum, moderately bitter hops and a slight brown sugar sweetness linger for days. The mouth feel is slightly sticky, slightly oily, slightly silky and 100% smooth. Very balanced beer and worthy of the praise it gets. RIP

mcberko (17178) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 18, 2014
2011 Vintage. 22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out lots of chocolate, caramel, some brandy-like liqueur, and tobacco. Flavour is ultra-complex, with soy sauce, chocolate, caramel and some liqueur. Highly complex, with just enough oxidation, caramel and residual sweetness. Definitely overhyped, but this is a solid impie stout.

Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - APR 12, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Pitch black beer with a small brown foamy head. Aromas of coffee, mocha, dark chocolate, roast, dried leaves, raisin, prunes, soya, some sweet tones, hints of light vinous and sticky darker tones. Flavours of coffee, roast, espresso, liquorice, toffee, soya, brown sugars, espresso, prunes, sticky, bitters, light citrussy wild yeasty tone and some light berries tones. Quite delicious! Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, prunes, roast, light sticky, some roast and some coffee/liquorice tones. Low carbo, creamy close to silky mouthfeel, full bodied and a sticky spicy texture. Another incredible brew!

MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 14, 2014
Bottle shared with SJ. Ann oddly amazing imperial stout. It had it’s typical, moleasses, roasted malt, burt / chocolate flavors, but then it added some odd tart/ berry taste to it that really made it shine. A really nice thick full body. I really liked it.

22 oz. bottle multiple times. Pours black in color with a small off white head. The aroma has roasted malt, dark fruits, some smoke and perhaps some char. The flavor has roasted malt, smoked malt with some char, some dark chocolate, dark fruits with some earthy hops, light to medium body with a smooth finish. This is good, but I think there are quite a few that are better.
