Very sweet in smell and taste, a bit syrupy too. Overall, very enjoyable, probably a bit over-hyped, but it adds to the allure and fun. Give me another!
Bottle shared at Ratebeer awards show. 30/01/2016. Huge thanks! 2009 bottle. A clear depp black / brown coloured pour with reddy hues and a reluctant tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate malts, rih, jammy fruits, strawberry. Flavour is composed of brown sugars, dark choc, fruits esters, strawberry, tangy raspberry. Palate is full sticky sweet, full bodies, moderate carbonation. .. Very well balanced and drinkable for such a big beer. BuckeyeBoy (7527) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUN 26, 2016

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2016 Thanks to my cousin. We’ve been wanting to try this for a while - it has been in the cellar for 6 years. Lots if grain/bread in the flavor. A little sharp and spicy, with amber-like notes and molasses. Impressive but overrated sorry to say (I think this was the #1 brew at Beer Advocate for a while, but we know how good their ratings are, don’t we?). DSG (14685) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 12, 2016

Bottle. 2009 vintage. Opaque black liquid with small light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, raw sugar, coffee, light vanilla, light bourbon and dried fruit. Taste is light to medium sweet, light bitter and light sour with notes of raw sugar, apples, light wood and bourbon. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Nice but probably too old.

2009 bottle. Pours dark brown with small tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong roast, chocolate, wood. Thick mouth, chewy, chocolate, roast, nice sweetness, very nice. thepatrickman (1307) - Durham, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 28, 2015
2011 bomber, shared over Christmas. I finally got a chance to try this one after a long wait and a lot of trading. This is really complex, with a surprisingly large amount of malt flavor and sweetness that provides a lot caramel and fruit notes. Surprisingly, though, they never overpower the chocolate and roasted flavors from the darker malts, and everything pulls together extremely well. Big, balanced, and still exceptional, even after 4 years. Art (3217) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 21, 2015

Bottle: 2010 vintage. Dark, oily black pour with a fine-bubbled, leathery tan head that forms & dissipates just as quick. Aroma has a nice chocolate & roasted malt base with light hints of coffee & burnt toffee. However there are mild signs of infection. Faint cherry skin, must, wet dog, & some old cotton blanket lie in the periphery. Uh-oh. Surprisingly enough, those do not show up on the palate, & there really isn’t any apparent tartness in the flavor. Roast, coffee, chocolate malt, a touch of woodsy smoke, some licorice, with a slightly bitter & ashy finish. Strange how the nose showed infection while the flavor didn’t. In any case, the flavor wasn’t anything spectacular, either. Pretty standard for a stout. Good, but maybe a touch overrated.
