Pours a two finger khaki head that fades very slowly to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Nice clear red/amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light malt nose and flavor is toasted malt and a hint of caramel. $5.95 for a 22oz bottle from the brewery in Portsmouth, NH.

Bottle, direct from Brew Pub during New England vacation 2011. Worthy of a second try. Spelt (232) - East Kingston, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 23, 2011
Some alcohol in nose. Rich carmel malts tending towards molasses. Some earthy hop character in aroma too. Coppery red with respectable british style head. Good lacing. Nicely sweet with crystal malts character and just a touch of bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. Quite nice. AirForceHops (7815) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 18, 2011
Draft @ the brewpub. Poured into a pint glass, almost transparent red color. Real thin white head, some lace. Nose of sweet malt and light sugar. Reminds me of an Irish Red rather than amber ale. Good amount of drinkability and would order again. Sweet and refreshing. Nice lasting finish that made me order another one. The nicer of the two brews I had on this day. Enjoyable. johnnnniee (4408) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 9, 2011
On tap at the brewpub.
Pours a deep reddish brown color with a thinnish white head that dissipates quickly to a ring on the top. Smells of toffee and brown sugar with an herbal earthy edge. Taste is sweet bready malts with lots of toffee, and sweet sugar and a hint of butterscotch. Just enough earthy hops to cut through the sweet malts. Finish is kind of dry with a lingering toffee sweetness. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet almost sticky mouthfeel. Nice simple English style ale, I enjoyed this one quite a bit.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. Off-white head with good retention recedes leaving scant lacing. Toasted caramel aromas. Sweet caramel and candy corn from front to back. Thin with mild roasted hops half way through the lasting finish. Goodgrief (2059) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - MAR 25, 2010
Pour was dark, brownish amber...made me feel like this was an irish red. Caramel malt and a very mild hop presence. Easy drinking with no flawsan except maybe being slightly boring. jkwalking05 (4745) - Arlington, Texas, USA - AUG 15, 2009
On tap at the brew pub. Amber red in color with a small cream colored head. Aroma is of nuts, light malt, caramel and toast. Taste is similar with hints of toffee and chocolate. Jblauvs (1357) - Chester, Vermont, USA - JUN 30, 2009
dark reddish pour with nice off white head. Aroma is of nice caramel malt. Mouthful is a bit sweet and solid malt. Nothing extravagant, just a straight forward malty amber. Enjoyable. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 30, 2009
Reddish brown pour with minimal head. Aroma was mostly sweet malt, light and not complex, but not unpleasant. Flavor is also predominantly sweet malt with some caramel notes. Nothing special, but drinkable and a decent brew overall.
