On tap at the brewpub.
Pours a deep reddish brown color with a thinnish white head that dissipates quickly to a ring on the top. Smells of toffee and brown sugar with an herbal earthy edge. Taste is sweet bready malts with lots of toffee, and sweet sugar and a hint of butterscotch. Just enough earthy hops to cut through the sweet malts. Finish is kind of dry with a lingering toffee sweetness. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet almost sticky mouthfeel. Nice simple English style ale, I enjoyed this one quite a bit. cfrancis (3474) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 6, 2012
Pours a dark, ruby red with a moderate off white head and good lacing. Aroma is mainly malt, caramel, earthy flavours and a small toffee. Taste is rich with the caramel and toffee. Small hop presence but was expecting more. jimhilt (2611) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 21, 2012
Pours a two finger khaki head that fades very slowly to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Nice clear red/amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light malt nose and flavor is toasted malt and a hint of caramel. $5.95 for a 22oz bottle from the brewery in Portsmouth, NH.

Reddish brown pour with minimal head. Aroma was mostly sweet malt, light and not complex, but not unpleasant. Flavor is also predominantly sweet malt with some caramel notes. Nothing special, but drinkable and a decent brew overall. Imaena (2327) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - NOV 9, 2013
Draught. This is a pretty bland red ale with a decent malt and hop balance.

Light brown pour with one finger head. Aroma is toasty biscuit malt with hints of roast and sweet malt. Flavor is bready and sweet, with only a slight hop balance. Malt character is brought out nicely. Palate is medium with light carbonation. Average for the style. Goodgrief (2039) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - MAR 25, 2010
Pour was dark, brownish amber...made me feel like this was an irish red. Caramel malt and a very mild hop presence. Easy drinking with no flawsan except maybe being slightly boring. thepatrickman (1365) - Jevington, East Sussex, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2016
Draft at the brewery. It’s not overly exciting, but it’s also exactly what a quaffable red ale should be. The malt flavor was good, caramelly, and a little toasty, and there was a little bit of hop bitterness in the background. Overall, it did the trick of washing down a Rueben sandwich extremely well. dark reddish pour with nice off white head. Aroma is of nice caramel malt. Mouthful is a bit sweet and solid malt. Nothing extravagant, just a straight forward malty amber. Enjoyable. BuckNaked (1230) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - APR 2, 2006
22oz bottle thanks to Argo0: Pours to medium amber with a light ruby tint when held to the light. Sitting atop is a medium beige head that lasts with nice retention and lacing down the sides of the glass. The aroma is lightly sweet malt, nuts, with some mild fruit and caramel. Taste is dry caramel, apples, earthy sweet malt, and a bit of dry hop pellets towards the finish. Light bodied, moderately carbonated, finishes with a bit a of earthy malt and grassy hops.
