Bottle shared by B3C. Poured a dark brown with an average rocky off-white head that was lasting with good lacing. Moderatey hop and toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bitter sweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. Good brew. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Draft at Portsmouth Brewing. Pours a hazy brown-amber with an off-white head. Nose is sweet malt, caramel, citrus, and some piney hops. Flavor is similar with lingering sweet malt and piney hops. Lots of caramel and a decent amount of hops in this red. Medium in body and a malty and mildly hoppy red. thepatrickman (1369) - Jevington, East Sussex, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2016
Draft at the brewery. It’s not overly exciting, but it’s also exactly what a quaffable red ale should be. The malt flavor was good, caramelly, and a little toasty, and there was a little bit of hop bitterness in the background. Overall, it did the trick of washing down a Rueben sandwich extremely well. 22oz bottle thanks to Argo0: Pours to medium amber with a light ruby tint when held to the light. Sitting atop is a medium beige head that lasts with nice retention and lacing down the sides of the glass. The aroma is lightly sweet malt, nuts, with some mild fruit and caramel. Taste is dry caramel, apples, earthy sweet malt, and a bit of dry hop pellets towards the finish. Light bodied, moderately carbonated, finishes with a bit a of earthy malt and grassy hops.

Light brown pour with one finger head. Aroma is toasty biscuit malt with hints of roast and sweet malt. Flavor is bready and sweet, with only a slight hop balance. Malt character is brought out nicely. Palate is medium with light carbonation. Average for the style. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 30, 2009
Reddish brown pour with minimal head. Aroma was mostly sweet malt, light and not complex, but not unpleasant. Flavor is also predominantly sweet malt with some caramel notes. Nothing special, but drinkable and a decent brew overall. Jblauvs (1358) - Chester, Vermont, USA - JUN 30, 2009
dark reddish pour with nice off white head. Aroma is of nice caramel malt. Mouthful is a bit sweet and solid malt. Nothing extravagant, just a straight forward malty amber. Enjoyable. jcwattsrugger (12471) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAR 21, 2009
growler-pours a disappearing off white head and amber color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel/some chocolate, some metallic hops bite. Mild carbonation. TheHopster (1111) - Netcong, New Jersey, USA - JUL 28, 2011
