Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pale amber/gold beer. Aroma is quite interesting. Bright lemony thyme, mint and herbal spice up front. The more typical banana and apricot notes appear in back, but thankfully, they aren’t overly sweet and cloying. There is a lot of clove and wheat flavour that pick up as the beer warms a bit, giving it a flavour like a cross between saison and hefeweizen. Quite full-bodied and a bit sweeter than it likely should be, but it isn’t cloying. Unusual take on the style. LilBeerDoctor (4193) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 4, 2009
Bottle at PPRBSG09. Pours a clear light orange with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, bready malt, and light fruit. Flavor is sweet, light, and crisp. Very drinkable although a touch sweet.

Bomber at Peter’s NY gathering - a lot sweeter than I like my saisons - kind of a honey character throughout - some mango, pineapple and banana try to capitalize on the sweetness - some wheaty tang and citrus rind come is, as well as slightly bitter herbs and light hops - these things try to balance the sweetness out, but don’t really do a good job of it - disappointing. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 3, 2009
(PPSG09, 22oz bottle) Quickly dissipating off-white head atop cloudy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, candi sugar, banana. Taste is moderately sweet, candi sugar, banana, light spice. Medium body, low carbonation. PilsnerPeter (3050) - Flushing, New York, USA - JUN 2, 2009
Bottle: Pours a hazy golden with a dense white head. Very phenolic aroma accompanied by a chemical character- lots of residual sugars, banana phenols, acetone. Flavor is similar with a sticky rather than effervescent palate. Chemicalish notes, banana sweetness, some mild chalky phenolics toward the back. No desired yeast nuances for the style. Another under attenuated example of an American Saison.

I liked this a lot. It was spicy, with peppery citrus flavor. It had pine notes too. Light carbonation, golden yellow color, Light/med bodied with a nice long finish. Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - JUN 1, 2009
