The Whipper Snapper is an American Mild ale. So it is a sort of hybrid beer where is has the light body and low alcohol of a British Mild. Though it has the color and hop characteristics of an American IPA. So at 4.5% abv it is a session IPA. Enjoy!

Perhaps the lightest ipa I’ve ever had. I was in the mood for something heavy but was pleasantly suprised by this beer drinkability and without sacrificing much on flavor

LSAT Freedom Trip #28. Keg at the brewery. Hey look it’s a session IPA from before there was such a thing! Hazy orange, large foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of floral, earthy, mild tropical hops. The taste is piney, resin, earthy hops, grainy malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Tasted on 11/12/11 from a capped bomber bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a thick off white head that slowly recedes to a thin, even layer of lace. The nose is super hoppy and dank with a hint of citrus and tropical fruit, and a nice bread malt backbone. The flavor is super dry and bitter hops with resin, citrus, and a green note, along with light bread malt. The body is light with average carbonation and a long, very dry, resin hops finish.

(Rating #5947)

On tap, light yellow with a small head. Has a funky sour aroma and taste. Slightly bitter.

Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Doodler. Thanks, I think?!? Gigantic gusher. Pour is hazy orange with a big white head and great lacing. Bretty, tropical fruity, grapefruit, papaya, grass, biscuit, and dough in the aroma. Taste is papaya, mango, pineapple, grass, light weed, biscuit, and bread with a medium bitter finish. Clearly infected, yet somehow it works. Light body with soft carbonation. Pretty tasty, even though it was unintended.

Bottle @ Steve_0, courtesy of Doodler, thanks. Bottle shot off like a Mothefucker. Hazy golden appearance with a huge foamy white head. Aroma is bretty, juniper, and green hoppy. Chewy, twangy flavor. Some plastic and tropical fruits. This one is off but still isn’t bad.

Draught. This is a nice pale with great abv and lots of character. This one stands out as ane east coast APA.

Draft at the source. Hazy golden color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of white pepper and hay. Taste is very lager-like.

Draft @ Brew Pub served in a pilsner glass. Clear gold piss color. Small white head, no lace. Aroma is grainy, slight earthy notes and citrus hops. Taste is pretty much the same. Light to medium body. Average beer, but at least its drinkable. Nothing really interesting here. This is for sure made to keep the masses happy. I can’t really say anything bad about it but with some many other interesting brews at the pub, I don’t ever see ordering another.
