Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Bottle. Amber Gold in colour. Spices (cinnamon & nutmeg) dominate. Sweet malt and light hops. Dry finish. Unpleasant vegetal bitterness in the aftertaste. Not for me. (2008)

Clear orange with no head. Sharp spicy aroma of allspice and a hint of vegetation. Rich and malty with a vegetal undertone. Light bodied. Very mellow and well blended.

December 2016 - Bottle share at One Canada Square. Thanks Fergus! As Post Road Pumpkin Ale. Amber orange, translucent, foamy tan head, dotted lacing. Aroma is pumpkin spice, nutmeg, clove, ginger, toffee and fudge. A bit like one of those pumpkin lattes which are so popular nowadays. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is papery, nutmeg, woody peppery finish with some clove, quite dry. OK. (3.0)

October 25th, 2014 - Under the heavy red light of the bar, this beer is more a candy apple red, but I suspect given the style its more orange in nature. But whether or not its one shade or another on the spectrum, the head is clearly visible, with a nice mottled, webby texture, and enough grip to cling to the glass well after a sip. The aroma is hard to get in the bar thanks to aroma pollutants, but the flavor is clear and clean. Its mostly dry, more like a cracker, with a very faint pumpkin touch, playing in the background instead of shouting in the foreground.

Best by 02/17. Pours pretty golden amber, clear, orange tinged white head. Aroma is lots of cinnamon, pumpkin spice, nutmeg. Very nicely pumpkin spiced. More than I expected. Flavor is sort of generic ale, cinnamon undertones, nutmeg, earthy, some pumpkin, but Id call it mostly cinnamon and nutmeg. Kinda bitter finish for a pumpkin beer. Fine. Its a pumpkin-spiced beer. Not particularly roasty or malty. Not too sweet. Not the best pumpkin beer Ive ever had but I would drink it again.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Fergus. Pours clear copper-gold with a creamy, white head. Pleasant cinnamon in the nose, dried pumpkin, a little leafy hop, toasted bread. Light sweet flavour with nips of gingerbread, crackers, a little orange peel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, with more autumnal spices, more dry pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg, ginger. Enjoyable pumpkin beer.

Bottle thanks to Fergy at level 42. It pours clear orange - amber with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet, sickly, spicy, nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin and icing sugar. The taste is dry, sticky, sweet, earthy, autumnal spice, leaves, chewy, some alcohol and root veg with a drying finish. Medium body and average carabontion. Earthy, chewy and spice. Not great.
