33cl flesje gekregen via Het Bierhuis, Breda Alcoholpercentage van 10% Uitgeschonken in St. Bernardus glas Uiterlijk: donkerbruin met kleine schuimkraag Aroma en smaak: neus is alcohol van de moscatel, wel minder dan de armagnac, nootachtig, smaak is donker fruit, rozijnen, caramel, alcohol, moscatel wijn komt redelijk door Conclusie: de armagnac was wat voller, cognac nog te gaan

(Post Scriptum Oak Series - Moscatel) Bottle 330ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 10% Dark orange colour on the body, small tan head on top, with good density and retention. Not that different on the aroma than the other versions, caramel, stone fruits, alcohol. Sweet taste with alcohol notable, stone fruits, some berries, caramel and grains. Medium body. Good.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2017 Foggy amber. Thin to medium head with high retention. Aroma intensity 4/5. In the nose, vanilla, malt, berries, basement aromas, pear, banana and nuts. Medium sweet with medium to heavy bitter finish. Full body. Pleasant texture. A warm feeling inside the chest

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 33B/17D). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L15022. AROMA: medium-low slightly sweet ripe cantaloup melon aromas mixed with a medium toffee-like malt note. spicy alcohol notes. moscatel grapes imperceptible. APPEARANCE: medium dark amber color and clear. medium ivory head with good retention. leg formation. TASTE: medium-low malt presence with a slight toasted/toffee character and peppery alcohols. medium-low woodsy taste. medium-low bitterness but malt balanced. finishes dry. no moscatel grapes perceptible. PALATE: medium to medium-high body with moderate carbonation. medium-low hot alcohol warmth. OVERALL: altought its a good barleywine, the character from the used barrel is imperceptible.
