Bottle. Nice, hoppy aroma, sweet, spicy hops. Dark amber colour, small unstable white head. Nicely malty flavour, same flavours as the aroma suggests. Good pepperiness, too. Good mouthfeel. A bit on the strong, peppery and sweet side, which I happen to like. Surprisingly good, very flavourful for its ABV. Nuffield (4171) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUL 31, 2007
Brown-red, clear. Caramel flavors with butane and fruit. Decent aroma--reminds me of a Belgian ale, deep and rich. The alcohol isn’t really that intense. Funny screwtop on the bottle, but hey, whatever works. Bottle in Germany. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUN 21, 2009

Deep golden colour, small white head. Aroma is malts, some herbs and also quite hoppy. Flavour is fruity hops, quite big on sweet malts and also some slight notes of alcohol. A quite smooth palate as well as it’s quite thick.
A nother great beer from this brewery.Reddish colour with small head.Soft and mild taste of sweet caramel also fruity with nice sweet finish. dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - JUN 19, 2005
Bottled. Clear amber colour. Medium frothy head. Caramelly nose with flowery and somewhat perfumy, sweet notes. Not too sweet, but malty and sweet. Flawness and nice, but unspectacular bockbier.

(bottle, already brewed by Zötler, Rettenberg as the back label states) Clear, golden colour with a thick and slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet and biscuity (cara-)malty aroma with hints of sour dough and herbal hops in the background. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Solid (cara-)malty base with notes of biscuits, a subtle fruity touch and herbal hoppy accents; sweet and slightly bitter hoppy finish with slightly tangy alcoholic notes. Not particularly demanding but pretty “süffig”/moreish. 18.III.10 Bierkrug (2129) - - NOV 21, 2010
500 ml bottle in Germany. Thanks to the Bottleman. Pours a clear dark golden color. Nice and thick white head that lasts. Aroma is Apples, malt and hay. Plesant. Taste is strong alcohol, mashed over ripe apples and sweet candy. Palate lingers and is much like the aroma. Nice Heller Bock. AshtonMcCobb (6605) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 23, 2012
50cl bottle. Pours golden with a reasonable head and a gentle level of carbonation, The nose has lemon malt, with a slight dry yeast. The taste has a creamy/custardy/lemony note that dominates. The palate has a rich creamy texture on a medium body and a clean finish. Overall, nice beer!

An amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, grain, and caramel, while the flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and grain - here the alcohol is well hidden. pivnizub (10619) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAR 12, 2010
Bottle: Deep golden, rapidly collapsing fluffy off-white foam; solid sweetish-grainy nose with a bisquity touch; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, soft; bisquity traces in the sweet-malty finish, followed by a light bitterness. Though not very aromatic, a good and crunchy brew....
Earlier Rating: 4/8/2005 Total Score: 2.8
Amber coloured, thin but firm yellowish head; sweet, caramel nose with some hops in the background; fizzy; starts sweet and malty, ends with an dry, hoppy, long lasting finish; bitter aftertaste; a bit unharmonic and not very perfectly rounded; the alcohol is quite present.....
Not bad, but not deceptive at all !
