COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Zilverenmaan (262) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - AUG 2, 2017
Aroma sweet, gingerbread, a little red currant, butterscotch. Taste sweet, rather unspectacular but some nice dark fruits, butterscotch, alcoholic, too sweet though, too much butterscotch. MF rather crude, maybe due to overcarbonation or alcohol.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is malt, caramel, dried fruits, strong raisins, candy sugar, with a touch of iron. Flavour is sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Fairly typical Dubbel, could be a bit fuller. Hardly exciting.

MelvinKalksma (1676) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 22, 2016

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, bread, Belgian yeast, berries, red fruit and spices.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque red/dark brown beer with a slight/medium off-white/beige head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, Belgian yeast, berries and red fruit; ends slightly dry with bread and spices.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. A very strange Dubbel thanks to the loads of berries and red fruit, but this makes it really enjoyable.
