Rather pleasant slight honey / toffee hint but certainly not sweet - nor sharply bitter. Very quaffable and interesting enough for me to have a second dose! imdownthepub (14470) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2014
Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’14. Brown with white head. Sweet malted beer, some caramelisation, toffee notes, a little boiled character, some vegetable notes. Nothing outstanding. jackl (8029) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Amber color with a small white head. The nose is lightly grassy with some strawberry and caramel malt. The taste is light floral hops, more caramel and orchard fruits. Fairly simple, clean flavors. Overall, OK. Nothing special. I don’t think this is a mild, mind. thepegjett (1260) - Cambridge (via Winnipeg), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2012
Called a mild, but is a bitter to me. Dark gold with mid body. Fruity and sweet with light hoppy bitter. chriso (7533) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 7, 2011
Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, 30 April 2009. Described n the festival programme as a "dark mild" but more of a copper colour really. Pleasant caramel aroma. Smooth and easy drinking. More caramel/toffee in the flavour than roast. A bit sweet. Fairly solid but didn’t really grab me. Not a patch on Beijing Black.

Malty, nutty taste with dark fruit, bready malt and dusty hops. Below medium body, balanced sweetness. Tasty and well balanced session ale. ladnewton (1937) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 22, 2010
Cask at the Southampton Arms on 18th May 2010. Brown with white head. Quite sweet with a fruity aroma and a touch of citrus hitting the roof of the mouth. Slightly watery texture and a sweet fruity aftertaste. harrisoni (18437) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAY 4, 2009

On gravity at the Reading Beer Festival, 01/05/09. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish mild with some red fruit, a hint of lichen and not much else. came off worst amongst the milds sampled at the festival, and not a beer to be revisited.
