On tap @ Potosi Brewery. Served a reddish amber with a nice fine foam head that slowly faded to lace. Aroma of sweet malts and moderate hops. Front end of taste was nicely malty and it finished with a smooth moderate hop finish. Palate was very good. Overall, this was a very nice brew - somewhat similar to their Cave Ale.
Tap at Potosi. Clear amber pour with a small sticky head. Earthy hops, mild sweetness - clean and good. CanIHave4Beers (4184) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - FEB 18, 2012

The flavor is toasty and malty with a mild bit of earthy hops. The beer is lightly sweet smelling.
The flavor is toasty and chocolaty with a good clean malt character. The beer is nicely bitter with a good orange fruit character. The beer has a good dosing of earthy hops.
Gracious! This stuff is 7% abv? I would have never guessed that. It’s pretty nice tasting beer either way.
Tap. Aroma is malty and nutty; some bread and biscuit, caramel, and faint hops. Pours a clear amber with off-white head, average retention, bit of lacing. Flavor: biscuit and bready, some caramel and toast, but mostly edging towards the biscuit. Moderate hop bitterness, some hop flavor (spicy and herbal). Medium body, low-medium carbonation. Solid beer, a touch strong for the style but very pleasant and drinkable. barleyPops (1142) - Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA - OCT 24, 2010
