Roasted malt aromas, medium bodied with chocolate and caramel notes and a medium hop bitterness. Just as the Gandy Dancers used rhythm to build railroads, our porter harmonizes its complex profile for a flavorful experience. Additional Notes: Roasted malt aroma and flavor. Notes of chocolate and caramel. Malty sweetness is balanced with bitterness of black malt. Slight fruity ester character with mild hop aroma. Medium hop bitterness. Medium to full body. Dark brown to black in color with off-white head.

pretty dang good porter. on the sweeter end and a nice milky and creamy body

MaltOne (417) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 23, 2017
Pours dark opaque brown, very brief head. Aroma has medium roast grain, a little chocolate, a little sweet dried fruit. Taste definitely leaning into the sweet spectrum, but nicely balanced with a drier roasted structure. Medium palate, not a cloying sweetness, but, again, noticeably in the sweet category. Overall, surprisingly pleasant, drinkable, lighter sweet porter.

Very great porter. Extremely palatable with a sweet finish. Great body. A good dinner beer.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Milwaukee, 10/8/16. Dark brown, thin fizzy tan head, poor retention. Aroma of cocoa, chocolate, roasted malts, lactose, honey. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, apples, cocoa, honey, a bit of sunflower seed. Medium bodied, creamy. Quite nice.

12 ounce bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, served a little colder than cellar temp from a pint glass. Thin to moderate light tan head tops a near-opaque black body...toasty malts dominate the aroma as expected, hints of sweet chocolate and light coffee, sort of a middle-of-the-road aromatic profile for style but expressive enough...light sweetness (brown sugar) at the front of the flavor train, moderate bitterness and decent malts in the middle cars, fairly strong roasty and burnt notes at the finish...as it warms, a touch of dried tart cherry shows up for a bit more intrigue...body might be a tad light for style but within the margins of decent; carbonation slightly on the strong side...bitterness carries on in the aftertaste. Solid enough but unremarkable.

Pretty good stuff. Bittersweet, without being overly sweet. Which is a pleasant change these days. A bit roasty. Sort of going in the direction of Guinness. Easy drinking. Very nice finish.

JPDIPSO (6325) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAR 14, 2016
Mahogany color with a taller light tan head. Aromas of toasted to roasted malt and hints of coffee and dark chocolate. Dry flavors with some roasted malt and hints of ash. I get the roasted malt just need a bit more pale ale to mix and give this one some added depth. 5/12

12/24/15. 12oz bottle while in IL for Christmas. I kept thinking the box said "Candy Dancer" and that it was going to be a peppermint porter or something, but it’s not. Which is fine by me. Almost black pour under a small tan head. Roasted malt aromas, coffee, dark chocolate, some fruitiness, light acidity. Smooth flavor, a touch light, hint of coffee and chocolate, caramel, cream. Not bad.

12 oz single bottle into a shaker, purchased at Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits - Muscatine. Dark brown appearance with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, toasted/breaded malt, roasted grain and a slight touch of dark fruity esters. Similar flavor, adding hints of coffee, caramel and toffee. Mild malt sweetness balanced by a light to mild bitterness (earthy/roasted) over a medium body. Solid porter overall.
