Emeister84 (2594) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Aromas of bourbon whiskey, apple, subtle brandy, subtle almond. Appearance is very pale gold with a very slight greenish tint. Taste is fresh and dry, tart, oaky, and a little boozy. The palate is medium-full-bodied, with fizzy refreshing carbonation, and a clean finish with warming brandy notes.

Airplane glue, oak. Clear pale yellow. Apple, oak, dusty basement. Light, dry, soft carbonation. Nice character, subtle.

Tap @ Mekong Richmond - pours clear pale yellow, tiny bubbles. Aroma is oaky vanilla with tart apple notes. Really bright taste with some nice minerality, tart taste, very dry on the initial attack, but that mellows out on the finish. Very nice!

Bottle from Hair of the DoG bottle shop in Williamsburg. Pours a clear yellow with some soda-like bubbles that recede. Nose is nice apples, apple brandy, mild sweetness, and some apple flesh. Flavor is similar with a nice bit of English dry cider. Apple flesh, apple brandy sweetness but not too much and it fades almost instantly, and then just a dry culinary apple presence. Light in body and lingering dry apple flesh and some dryness. Not what I expected from an apple brandy cider, but dry and very nice overall.

Bottle. Looked like the pic, but without the bow. Hazy neon yellow color, coca cola head that disappeared quickly. Aroma has vanilla, tart apple skins, tannins. Taste is rich and fruity vanilla, apples in the background. Complex and characterful.

Sampler at pizzeria Paradiso Arlington. Pours almost clear with a hint of color. Solid tart and Apple notes on the nose and tongue. Hides it’s booze very well. Quaffable.

Served on draft at Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a clear golden color with a thin ring of head. Aroma of tart apples, vanilla, tannins and faint brandy notes. The taste is tart apples, wood, earth, faint brandy. "Zesty" is in my notes. Faint heat. A little harsh at first but quite nice once it breathes a bit.
