Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought caramel, toffee, hints of earth into lots of orange, grapefruit, slight lemon, hints of pine in there as well. Taste is a mix of grass, biscuit, pine into some caramel, toffee, slight orange, grapefruit, finishing fairly bitter, dry.

Tap at 3 Squares. Pours a hazy red/amber, lots of citrus hops. Tasted more like an IPA, definitely not brewed to traditional style.

Draft at All Pints North. Cloudy dark amber pour. Lots of citrus hops in the nose. Hoppy, bitter and a big tannic presence in the taste. Light mouthfeel.

BVery (10510) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JUL 13, 2013
Sampled at All Pints North 2013 in Duluth, MN. Mostly clear yellow pour with a white head. Sweet fruits and some honey come out in this, and it finishes a bit dry. Very good summer brew.

islay (2764) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 24, 2013
8 oz. pour, on tap at the brewery’s tap room; consumed on 3-23-13. Pours a bright gold with a slight haze but largely clear. Small amount of near-white head. Produces good lacing. Floral, fruity aroma features cream, apricot, peach, and sugar scents. Dry and fruity taste. Honey and pear flavors. Tastes well made. Somewhat reminiscent of an American pale ale but clearly not the standard. Light to moderate body. Crisp and lively in the palate. Good beer in a style in which it is hard to rate particularly highly due to its subtlety. 6/4/7/3/14=>3.4

Quite a light yellow color. The first impressions are very English--it really matches well the typical front of an English "golden summer" ale or whatever it is we’re calling it these days (since its arrival on the scene a decade ago). The backend is a bit hoppier and certainly more bitter than that, but otherwise it is still a good drinker. (On tap at brewery.)

From tap at the brewery. Mild fruity and toasted aroma. Toasted malty and light cornish. Bitter and light herbal. Bitter and dry finish.
