In vino veritas...In wine comes truth. Sometimes, beer takes on its full true nature after a little nap in a wine barrel. Especially a wine barrel that has been dosed with lots of lactobacillus and fruity brettanomyces. Effervescent, sour, tart lemon granita, hints of vanilla and round oaky tanninsl crisp with an exceedingly dry finish. Verity or dare...you go first!

Bottle thanks to steasy. Pours a near clear pale yellow with a bubbly white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of yogurt and earthy wheat with a light tartness and a touch of wine dryness. Flavor is much more light fruit sour forward with a touch of acid and a dry finish.

jcartamdg (3522) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 3, 2014
Pours a light gold with no head. Aroma of white wine oak and funk. Taste is white wine, malt, sour wheat, herbal notes. Not bad.

Poured a light yellow color with aromas of lacto, light lemon, tart wheat and a touch of wine. Flavors are the same, light on the palate, refreshing light lacto and lemon on the palate. Solid.

Pour on tap at APN 2013, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of white fruit, funk, hints of barnyard, touch of grass into a hint of lemon, lactic, slight yeast with hints of biscuit, bread. Taste is a mix of peach, slight white fruit into some barnyard, funk, oak, hints of vanilla, slight lemon, finishing slightly tart, dry.

Bottle at some point during RBSG. From notes. Sour and fruity with a good dose of funky brett. Very good.

September 2, 2013 - bottle shared by Brandon. Cloudy yellow pour with some head that faded quickly. Aroma had some barnyard funk, white wine and grain. Taste was consistent with aroma, but had some citrus and oak.

Pours a light color, nice tart wine, really woody. Aroma was lacking but a very good beer.

A very good beer, and a little daring to try this kind of aged Berliner Weisse. This kind of beer is going to expose any mistakes. The last of the pour gives it a moderately hazy appearance. The aroma is dry and sour, suggesting a lambic, lightly barnyard and earthy. The flavor has some citrus, a little apple, decently sour but not extraordinarily so. The abv is low, so it is very drinkable, but I wonder if this couldn’t be ramped up a little (to 4.5 % perhaps?) so that it had a bit more body and lingering flavors--it finishes up a little quick. I wish it had a little more resonance. But it has a great white wine quality to it as is. Very nice. Bottle #83/250.

Light color. Little white head. Aroma is very funky. Flavor is much more tart than expected, very tannic. Really nice.

Sample from All Pints North. Crystal clear, massive rocky white head. Foxy, wine, hints of spice and oaky vanilla. Huge tannins, citrus and exceedingly dry tart and sour finish. Beautiful!
