Can - Funky tropical fruit notes with lots of yeast character. Clear gold with a frothy white head. Much like it smells with lots of funk and tropical notes. Solid.

Pours a very clear golden with a small foamy white head that leaves pretty good lacing. Nose is of ripe fruits and quite phenolic. Pepper, bubblegum. Taste is more of the fruits and is gently bitter. More pepper. Drying alcohol. A light sweetness. Body is light to medium, carbonation moderate. Cereals in the finish. A pretty nice americanized saison.

Powell Street Craft Brewery / Four Winds Brewing Co. _American Farmhouse IPA_ Belgian IPA at 6.8% ABV 31 IBU _(C$4.49 at Oak & Vine, 473 ml, bottle date 25-Feb-2017, acquired 1-Apr-2017, reviewed 3-Apr-2017)_ Appearance: hazy pale gold with two fingers of loose white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, minimal lacing. (3/5) Aroma: dry funky yeast esters, tropical and stone fruit, citrus, light resin. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter, light spice. (8/10) Palate: medium-light body, lively carbonation, dry lingering bitter and funky finish. (4/5) Nothing wrong with this! Pleasant and balanced, decently complex without being overwhelming. The somewhat high ABV doesn’t come through at all, and this is very crushable. (15/20) 7.5/10 #ryansbooze ryansbooze.com

473ml can @ Sergiy’s. Pours a light cloudy golden colour with a tiny head. Nose is fruity with some citrus notes. Flavour is tropical hops, malty, and semi sweet with a slight bitterness.

Hazy blond color. Very nice aroma, the yeast character is very strong, funky and spicy, with strong component of grapefruit peel, and some coriander. Dry mouthfeel, the spicy character of the yeast is nice, and then there is some resiny, citrusy and pungent hop.
Nice.

Hazy deep blond color, medium sized head. Mild aroma, some spicy hops, light manure. Lean body, weaker than expected, rather dry too; delicate malt base; the hops are citrusy, more juicy than resiny, refreshing, and the yeast provides a light spicy touch that is not disturbing. Not my kind of ipa, but good.

Tasting with Alex, Brian and George. Tall can from The Gull. Canned on 2017-02-25. Pours a slightly hazy pale golden with a white head. Taste is wild yeasts, hops, fruity notes, slightly citrusy. Taste is same. Quite pleasant and very refreshing.

Hazy pale, medium head. Fruity, lemony hop nose. Sweeter malts, light fruity hops...nice soft hop character, floral. Nice balance, very good tropical hops, malts are sweet but pale. Restrained esters. It’s not exactly my kind of IPA but it’s done well.

On tap at Powell, pours a cloudy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma brings out a really nice blend of dank hops and farmhouse funk, with subtle tropical juiciness. Flavour is more farmhouse-y than IPA-like, with a great saison yeast character upfront, light farmhouse funkiness, and dry piney and citrus hops. Balanced really well and extremely refreshing. Bright and vibrant. Excellent.
