COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A twist on a traditional English Pale Ale. Caramel and English Pale malts were combined with the floral, citrus, and grapefruit notes of the North American hop giving this ale a very distinct sensory profile.

June 28, 2013 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs & mabel - bomber shared by gregclow. Hazy amber with a thick-looking creamy beige head. Aroma of solid citrus, zest and alcohol - very appealing (8-). Have to down-check it for the flavour - may more grain and nowhere near as much sharp citrus - I was expecting a lot more - lighter alcohol even. Thick body, average everything and eminently forgettable.

650ml brown bottle. The colour is a nice orange with a little haze. Noisy white head on top, leaves some clinging white foam behind. Nose has some bright and fresh orange zest. Taste - grains, bread, orange and lemon, grapefruit. Biscuity, malty at the end with some hops lingering and a mineral dryness. Enjoyed it.

Bottle, shared with Rockley. Orange amber, off white head. Earthy, tea-like caramel with mild citrus peel and moderate bitterness. Not a bad beer, just not very exciting.

Appearance: clear pale amber with two fingers of rocky ivory head, excellent retention moderate chunky lacing. (4/5) Aroma: earthy, caramel malt, floral, citrus, pine. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (6/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (4/5) Not quite a true English Pale, given the North American hop presence, but certainly English-dominant. The bitterness is also a bit higher than typically for the EPA style, but not to the point of becoming unbalanced. Not my favourite style overall, but still a pleasant and well-balanced ale. (14/20)

Not a whole lot of good going on here. Some bittering hops, though not clear what. Ok malt. Easy palate. Golden pour. Light tangy finish. Id skip. Tap at Drake.
