UPDATED: SEP 7, 2013 Tap. Roasted malt and coffee aroma. Oil black with thin head. Coffee and roasted malt flavor with light licorice. Light astringent finish. Very tasty, full bodied brew - great beer. smoosh (536) - New Albany, Indiana, USA - AUG 20, 2013
Huge, chocolate roast in the nose - wow! Typical nitro stout appearance - black body with a creamy had of small, tight beige bubbles. Delicious! The flavor matches the aroma. Beer is soft on the palate. A terrific beer and one that makes a visit to Columbus quite likely! alleycat (11) - Indiana, USA - FEB 6, 2010
Black creamy stout. Off white head which lasts a little while. Stron roast flavor with hints of coffee and chocolate. ContemplateBeer (2089) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUL 3, 2012
Aroma of chicory coffee, moderate roast and bitter chocolate. Appearance is pitch black with a tight, creamy brown head. Flavor has a nice level of bitterness with the coffee and chocolate, the finish is very light. Palate is oily (power of suggestion? No.) and creamy. A really, really well made stout- no frills, but just an expertly crafted example of the style. Patrickctenchi (6690) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - JUL 30, 2013

On tap, poured into a shaker. Chocolate and coffee are very noticeable in the aroma with a touch of cream. It’s a very dark, black body with an abundant tan head that coats the glass with lots of messy lace. It’s a medium high sweetness with a touch of bitter at the finish. The body is on the low side of full, but robust none-the-less, with a slick texture and a light amount of soft carbonation that starts to feel flat by the end. It finishes with a chocolate milk note and a bit of grains, coffee grounds and ash. A light chocolate and ash quality sticks around in the brief aftertaste. Draft sample at IBG Winterfest 2009.
Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.
My expectations where more then met. b3shine (9072) - Indiana, USA - JUL 3, 2013
