This beer came in a bottle containing a decent amount of yeast residiue. The smell carries a honey note and hints of fresh citrus. The taste is round, malty, honey tinged and smooth. It lingers on the palate but not intensely, just preparing you for more. I never tasted the 11% alcohol. This beer reminds me a lot of the style DeGraal manages to pull off ... brewing strong beers that sneak up on you by their insidious smoothness and soft taste. It was both a sad and a good thing I only had one bottle of Zware Blonde this evening. sayravai (4711) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 5, 2010
(Bottled) Opaque amber with a smallish, firm and lasting, lacy head. Sweet and grainy-malty nose with fresh fruitiness. Flavor is sweet, very fruity, and overall very mellow with low bitterness, but with also some homebrewish touch. ABV very well hidden. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. A quite nice and balanced Belgian Strong - Barley Wine hybrid, despite the slight homebrewishness. This is a solid brewery. 5436 madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2011

Bottle from Bier Koning. Cloudy blond beer, tidy white head. Softish palate, semi dry and smooth. Sweet malt with a streak of honey. Tangerine and orange. A light touch of brandy! All very well joined up and delivered with smooth creamy malt. Finishes semi dry. An unexpected treat!

, Tampere. Slightly hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, some yeast, mild grass, earth and sweetish notes. Flavour is fruits, some grass, and some mild alcoholic sweetness. Yet it’s very balanced and fullbodied.
Bottle 0,33ltr: Amber coloured brew with an citrus taste and hints of honey. Pretty well balanced brew unless with the high alcohol volume.

Bottled from Lekker Bier, 10% ABV, BB 04.05.2015, large sample, served in a trappist glass. Almost clear golden color, short frothy head. Aroma is fruity, strawberry, slight buttery, some grassy hop, spicy yeast, some high fusels, slight green apple. Quite sweet in taste, just slightly bitter, medium alcoholic. Quite sticky and sirupy. Not as dry and high on carbonation as most Belgian counterparts. Seems to be all malt and no sugar, or at least not as much as 10-15% of the malt bill. Its a bit one-dimensional, all going malty and alcoholic. Not as bad as some ratings say though, if you look at the style. Meilby (11692) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 7, 2012

I picked up this one just for the ABV. Aroma has some fruits and alcohol. Flavour is sweetish with some fruits, apricot and hints of citrus. Oh, and also some alcohol. I was surprised how good this was. Or then I just like the flavour of booze.
Cloudy brown amber, small white head. Aroma is some funk, malt, caramel. Taste is rather sweet and strong, with some alcohol, some hop bitterness, grass, yeast, and quite some malt. Sticky mouth feel, full body, ok carbo.
