4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
I think I was lost by the Prairie Bomb and Merica, but this one is pretty darn good! You can smell the aroma of espresso and chocolate. Dark as oil. Lacy head. The cocoa nibs and booze are detectable. Full bodied. Complex beer. Reviewers say the chili is pronounced but I did not detect any heat. It is shamelessly good. I’d love to try this one on tap. Or maybe even buy it andvpull it out in December.

.Appearance: Opaque Jet black, frothy dark brown head.
.Aroma: A blast of raw coffee bean, and just a nice beautiful scent of roasted coffee. Awesome roasted malts. Subtle notes of vanilla, sweet chocolate, dark fruit, molasses. And a slight scent of a freshly picked chili pepper.
.Taste: Upfront, roasted coffee and roasted malts Hints of dark fruit, sweet chocolate, and fudge. Finish is slightly bitter with a subtle hint of that chili pepper spice. A very complex flavor that intensifies as the beer comes closer to room temperature.
.Mouthfeel: Full body, rich and creamy. Sticky. Light carbonation.
.This is an awesome find. Aroma is fantastically complex and the flavors are very pronounced. The coffee dominates somewhat, but the more you sip the more those subtle flavors come out. You'll get some sweet chocolate, some dark fruit, and you'll be pleasantly surprised to taste the slight spice of a chili pepper. The mouthfeel is on point as well - very rich and creamy. The alcohol is so well hidden. You do get a slight warming feeling, but it's very enhancing. All around Excellent beer. wombat23 (1785) - Texas, USA - NOV 20, 2017

16 ounce can into snifter, canned on 10/9/2017. Pours dense pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and rocky dark tan head with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, chile pepper, molasses, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, raisin, cherry, licorice, anise, tobacco, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and chile pepper notes; with great strength. Taste of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, chile pepper, molasses, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, raisin, cherry, licorice, anise, tobacco, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light roast/char bitterness and pepper spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, chile pepper, molasses, toasted dark bread, smoke, char, dark fruit, licorice, anise, tobacco, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and chile pepper flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from roast/char bitterness and pepper spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 13%. Minimal pepper heat builds through the glass. Overall this is an amazing spiced imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and chile pepper flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. Really outstanding balance of all flavors, nothing is overdone. Rich and well rounded imperial stout complexity. Compared to the BBA version, this one is a little more charred/drying and not quite as thick as I hoped; but still a highly enjoyable offering.

At a tasting, no head, opaque black color, rich chocolate aroma with some coffee in the back that is getting stronger, dark chocolate flavor with some vanila and dark bread. Mellow and enjoyable but not great. rayaron (1997) - Kfar Saba, ISRAEL - NOV 5, 2017
Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav’s place. Thanks Tom. Opaque black with brown head. The aroma has notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, wood and coffee. Bitter flavor, sourish with notes of alcohol and wood, sticky. Full-bodied. Excellent. coachd (932) - Missouri, USA - OCT 27, 2017
Aroma has big time chilies, some coffee and slight vanilla. Also some chocolate, soy sauce, oak and beef bullion. Very complex. Looks beautiful - pitch black with a brown head. Tastes chocolatey with a spice/roast/hops aftertaste that really lingers. Palate is a 5+, in my opinion this is the most important quality in an imperial stout. This is excellent. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. fiery1 (1665) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 10, 2017
355ml bottle @ Alex's. Pours an opaque dark brown with a thin tan head. Nose is a mix of green pepper, chocolate, and subtle spices. Flavour is spices, dark chocolate, with a warming boozyness. It finishes somewhat dry with chocolate powder. It's rich, smooth, spicy and tasty.
