Bottle from Saveur beer. Pours oily black with little or no head. Vanilla, oak, wood, whiskey, chocolate nose. Flavour is treacle sweet with oak, tobacco, whiskey vanilla finish. Full bodied, full on flavour fantastic beer

Black pour with a thin tan head. Massive, dark chocolate/cocoa aroma, coffee, vanilla, sweetish but not cloying aromas. Taste is smooth, mocha, almost milky, hides the alcohol well, caramel, almost milky flavours, with a little heat from the chilli at the end. Sweet, slightly roasty, coffee bitterness, thick, creamy mouthfeel. As it warms up the booze is marginally more noticeable but all of the other flavours come up a notch too. Holy shit.

The dark roasted coffee notes are accented by chili spices, a stimulating departure from the beaten path of your everyday stout. Following this spark of an introduction, a welcome layer of vanilla sets in, much like the golden crust of gently toasted marshmallows. The journey comes to an end with the sweet reward of decadent chocolate, a journey made just perilous enough by the looming presence of hidden alcohol. Cloying sweetness in never realized, as a dry finish cuts the fuse before this bomb goes off and prepares the palate for the next drink. Overall a tremendous display of balance that could have easily teetered any which way if not for the fine craftsmanship demonstrated by Prairie here. Expect only confectionary delight and roasted peppery goodness from the nose. Pours black with short-lived but beautiful brown head.

Butelka z datą: ?
WYGLĄD: Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzyste. Piana drobna, bardzo niska, właściwie po chwili znika.
AROMAT: Bardzo intensywny. Mega czekoladowe! Dosłownie gar z roztopionymi tabliczkami czekolady. Zaraz potem, nieco z tyłu wyczuwalne nuty mocnej kawy, lasek wanilii oraz śliwek suszonych i rodzynek w czekoladzie.
SMAK: Wytrawne czekoladowe z kawowym posmakiem Finisz lekko piekący (od papryczek chili). Gęste/oleiste/ciężkie zalepiające usta. Doskonale ukryty alkohol.
OGÓLNIE: Jeden z najlepszych RIS-ów jakie piłem, a chyba numer jeden, jeśli chodzi o aromat.

dark brown colour, medium sized dense brown head; aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and some earthy-woody notes; taste of chocolate, mild roasted coffee, syrupy sweetness, some herbs and intensive spiciness of chili in the aftertaste; extraordinary beer; perfect choice to celebrate my 100th imperial stout rating :-) update after half hour: as it is warming, the chili is becoming more and more dominant in the taste :-) really-really-really amazing!

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2016 Jet black pour with minimal head. Big chocolate on the nose somewhere deep down a little chili pepper, some vanilla. Low carbonation, silky sweet with a nice coffee flavor. Not bitter dark chocolate but milky chocolate same with the coffee, little bitterness. I could go for a bit more chili but its nice in the finish. Fantastic.

Fantastic flavor, with the chilies adding a good amount of kick but not overpowering anything. A little thinner than I expected.

Draft at the Pine Box’s Fourth Anniversary party. Congrats guys. Ring foam on black. Sweet-tart aroma. Hot sauce, vinegar? Sticky fruit body, toffee and juicy, sticky raisins. Lots of fruit, unique flavor. Deliciously odd. Pungent, full, absolutely delicious. Trifle, jam, a little alc burn to balance.

Bottled. Pours deep black. Smells coffee and Carmel. Has a light palate. Has a taste that I’ve never had. Has a upfront espresso taste. A little spicy after taste the vanilla is bold after taste. Exactly stout.
