COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bomb! is an imperial stout aged on espresso beans, chocolate, vanilla beans, and ancho chile peppers. All the flavors meld to create a truly unique beer. The peppers add just the right amount of heat to compliment the intense coffee and chocolate flavors.

TH28 (426) - - OCT 29, 2016
12oz bottle. 9/9/14 production date. Appearance: Black, opaque, with a brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: Rich coffee roast, dark chocolate, some dark cherry, grass, pepper, and a touch of cardboard oxidation Taste: Starts with a rich coffee roast and dark chocolate, quickly turning to a moderately strong, grassy, chili pepper that delivers some heat, and a moderately strong bitterness thats accentuated by the pepper spice. Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy bodied with some syrupy consistency, and low carbonation. Surprising that the alcohol warmth isnt noticeable considering its 13%. Finish: Leaves a chocolate and coffee roast bitterness on the finish, with some lingering chili heat. Overall: If I had to sum this up Id say its a coffee pepper imperial stout. Strong coffee roast character throughout, and the chili pepper adds a significant heat and vegetal/grassy flavor. For an imperial stout of this strength the alcohol isnt noticeable and the dark fruit character is nonexistent. An interesting beer, but not sure I would buy a 2nd.

Pours inky black with a thin beige head that quickly reduces to a ring and random bubble clusters. Moderate lacing. Nose is beer bliss! Coffee, cocoa, chocolate covered cherries, blueberry, anise, vanilla. Booziness and pepper warmth come through promptly on the palate and linger a while. Full bodied, rich, decadent brewlisciousness! Excellent!

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2016 Draft at Bru Craft. Pitch black pour with brown foam. Weeping lace. First sip is a gloved punch to the face. Huge dark roast coffee flavors. Bitter cocoa nibs. Smoked chili peppers. GIGANTIC! - yet somehow remarkably smooth and balanced. Notes of black cherry, dried blueberry, molasses, tobacco, vanilla bean, liquorice, shoe polish, and peat. Full body. Rich and glossy. Huge ABV is felt but kept in check. Extraordinary! Tremendous!

12 oz. bottle @ home, about a year old? Pitch black color. Light brown head not very much. Aromas: chocolate, vegetal/pepper, ground coffe, roast, sweet. Retronasal its about the same but different order: sweet, chocolate, peppers, roast, coffee. Flavor is moderate to full sweet, peppery, chocolate. Alcohol feel isnt as strong as youd expect with 13%. Medium bodied. Pepper heat is quite mild and not at all as distracting from the flavor as with some beers. Finishes roasty, with moderate bitterness. Really nice, and drinks deceptively easy.

Bottle. Sensoric. Deep, dark brown with small to medium, light brown head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma is dominated by coffee - mostly hoisted coffee beans, in the second row moderately milk chocolate aromas, but still well hidden behind coffee. Also quite strong cocoa and vanilla notes. The aroma is really complex, you can find here also some caramel and nutty notes. My taste buds are not really prone to spicy notes, so I can;t say anything about this touch of chills peppers here. Taste is rather semi-sweet or sth between semi-dry and semi-bitter, but definitely in the end it is bitter. Well hidden ABV. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, finish is semi-bitter, chocolate and coffee. In general very interesting and very good american-way RIS - sweet with lots of experiments, the booze is well hidden, aroma is complex taste i diverse and that spicy papers, which I cant feel ;)

BREWMUSKCLES (2638) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 4, 2016
dark dank and complex. flavors wafting in and out they bump into each other without competing. beery enough and powerful and the lighter fizz only contributes to the ungodly mess that reveals perfection of creation. a seemingly mistaken creation at that or is it coincidence? from Oklahoma what a kick! Hey where is the brewer from!

Black with a fizzy brown/tan head that dissipates quickly. The first thing I notice in the aroma is coffee, with vanilla, coca powder, and roastiness all melded together. Some sweeter chocolate notes, toffee, and nose tingling alcohol/capsaicin are also detectable. The thick body gives way to chocolate, and coffee beans, with sweet malt and toffee in there too. There is also a bit of a medicinal taste that I guess could be attributed to the vanilla. The pepper heat slowly fades in after swallowing, and is boosted at first by the alcohol. The residual heat lingers with a bit of chocolate notes. Really tasty.

Delicious! Pours a deep, dark, almost purple-black, with minimal head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and chili. Flavor is very smooth, with chocolate, vanilla, some licorice, coffee, just a touch of chili heat and the perfect amount of sweetness--not cloying or boozy. This is a really good stout.

On tap! I dont really know why I am not rating this even higher - maybe because I imagine that some BA versions could be even tastier. Looks as a stout should look like, aroma has cocoa, milk chocolate and some espresso. taste is thick, very milk chocolaty - that means soft bitterness, loads of cocoa and all of that superbly balanced with alcohol. It is warming, alcohol is there, but does not feel like too much. Need to try some other versions of this also!
