Huge thanks MacBoost! Enormous, complex aroma. Initially straight up cold brew coffee, but later on everything, literally everything the description says, chili first, then chocolate shows up, with chocolate getting stronger and stronger and later on vanilla linking the two, with coffee taking a bit of a backseat. Creamy too, but shame the alcohol knocks it down from a solid 9 in that aspect. Almost pitch black body, brownish head, classic RIS body. Taste...lovely cocoa taste at first, but some dry coffee mixing with meat slightly offset it. The coffee notes arent clean, it wouldve been wonderful otherwise. There is definitely a chili presence and a slight burn. And yes. Vanilla. Definitely vanilla. Now, Id really LOVE to talk about stuff Im tasting here thats not in the actual blurb, but nothing apart from that shows up. All in all... everything ALMOST works together perfectly. Coffee, chocolate and vanilla, when they show up, mingle without any issues. The chili burn that masks any potential alcohol burn works well with them. But the actual chili taste doesnt mix thaaat well with others. That said. At sips, this is a 4.4 beer for me. And that, if you know my scale, is fucking awesome. Some sips, its a 3.6. So lets round it up at 4. Complex, interesting, good job!

12 0z. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, tiny bubbled, beige head, with extensive lacing, over a clear black brown (SRM 40) body......nose is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, mild dried fruits, hints of chili, minimal hop, balance to the additives.....taste is slightly brown sugar sweet, with heavy chocolate, light vanilla, hints of coffee, mild chili heat, finishing with hints of hop bitterness, balance to the additives and malts.....mouth feel, heavy, slightly sticky body, alcohol warmth present, but partially hidden by the chili, chocolate, vanilla and sweetness, moderate carbonation. This is way over in the dessert end of the Imperial Stout spectrum, with the additives, with the exception of the chile, adding to the perception of sweetness. The additives take this a bit away from the basic style. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

12oz bottle obtained in a trade. Pours black with a small mocha head, big foamy bubbles. Great lacing all around. Huge cinnamon and cocoa nose. Some nice chilli spiciness to it as well. Roast coffee and dark chocolate to round it out. Tastes sweet cocoa, some cinnamon and roast coffee. Toasty mouthfeel and sweet finish. Very smooth. Full and great aftertaste. Lovely stout especially considering that it isnt barrel aged.

Unrelenting black pour, dark wet-sand head that dissipates furiously to a small ring and smooth, soft patterns on the surface. Aroma, foremost, of Mexican chocolate. Brown sugar, pepper skin, milk chocolate. A unifying treacle fudge underneath. Coffee presents itself as roasty and floral at the same time. Bit of minerality and herbaceousness. Overall, turbinado sugar, coffee, and pepper skin riding on a brick of fudge. The first sip. The peppers provide a nice tingle of heat, surprisingly, overtop a beautifully oily body consisting of a non-cloying fudge, bright espresso, gently sweet. The flavor glides through the center of the palate as opposed to sticking to the cheeks. Very fun beer. Nose is so lovely, texture is great. I typically hate spicy beers, but this one has the pepper bite balanced on the head of a pin. Not spicy, but just a tingle. I can appreciate that restraint and precision!

Sorry gents but this is just not my style. I know a lot of people go for this but the thick molasses like texture and syrupy feel is something I find off putting. People talk about the coffee or espresso flavor but Ive had many many better coffee porters or cocoa stouts, in fact I think Ive only had one worse than this and that was past its used by date. Shared a bottle of this with 3 other people and all of us struggled to even finish a quarter glass.

From tap at Bootleggers. Lovely black color with a nice off white head. Aroma is massive of chocolate and some coffee, very nice. There is very little bitterness, and the taste is again dominated by chocolate and coffee and a smidgen of vanilla. Creamy and very nice to drink!

Bottle. At first it seemed really syrupy and not good, but it just need to warm a smidge. Still very thick, and kinda syrupy, but mostly in a good way. A little heat at the very end is nice. Velvety vanilla is very nice.

Taste: Complex mix of chili, coffee, semi sweet vanilla, cacao nibs and dry finish. Coffee and Vanilla bean aroma. Black/Brown, mostly opaque, soft tan head with nice lace. Full body with some alcohol kick to it.

Inky black pour. Thick like motor oil. Huge coffee aroma with chocolate and toasty. Initial blend of chocolate and vanilla, coffee. Just enough chili bite to round it off. Finish is sweet and boozy. Thick mouthfeel coats your throat.
