COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bomb! is an imperial stout aged on espresso beans, chocolate, vanilla beans, and ancho chile peppers. All the flavors meld to create a truly unique beer. The peppers add just the right amount of heat to compliment the intense coffee and chocolate flavors.

Prairie Bomb! pours pitch black, and has a decent dark tan head. The head lingers nicely. The aroma is amazingly complex and layered: vanilla, cocoa, big coffe notes, roasted malts, a woody, oaky characteristic, a slight burn of alcohol when I breathe deep, and a very mild chili peppers. Its rather viscous, a bit slick on the tongue. Its a very full body. The taste follows the nose nicely. Coffe is prominent, and chilis are just barely there, but it works wonderfully that way. Just a great, great stout.

Rich, dessert-like aromas full of chocolate & vanilla. Arrives with big flavors of chocolate & vanillas as youd expect from nose. Some coffee notes in the middle; subtle hot chile pepper note at the finish with booze. Overall super balanced and delicious.

(On tap @ Bootleggers) Poured into stemmed tulip at cellar temperature reveals a pitch black body with one finger of mostly tan head. Good retention and beautiful lace. Aroma features cocoa beans at the forefront but seemingly integrated with roasted malt without it getting perfumy or synthetic. There might actually be a hint of chili pepper / paprika powder note in the back of the aroma to balance it out somewhat. As the beer warms the vanilla becomes more prevalent, which I am less keen on but I suppose it reveals a level of depth in the composition that merits respect. Creamy texture, full body soft carbonation and a very gratifying, lingering, sweet finish that never gets cloying yet masks the high abv well. A further nuance on the finish is that it leaves a subtle tingling / warming sensation on your lips if they are ever so slightly parched. Evidence of the chili presence I suppose. Flavour holds plenty of aroma notes and a dominant sweetness, which is balanced really well in the sense that it doesnt get cloying yet masks the high alcohol dangerously well. Complexity is decent for the abv although it seems the emphasis here is on alcohol integration meaning it does not reach Belgian levels of dark fruit backdrop complexity. It does one thing and it does it sublimely well without leaving you wanting to discover or delve on further layers if complexity (apart from the increasing prevalance of vanilla aroma notes as it warms). A very well executed beer, which lives up to the expectations raised by a 13% ABV Imperial Stout without puzzling you further.

Type: 6-oz. draft (listed as 6, more lie 8) Glass: Clear snifter From: Pub 365 at Tuscany Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. Price: $8.00 Purchased: Dec. 15, 2016 Consumed: Dec. 15, 2016 Reviewed as: American Double / Imperial Stout Misc.: N/A Went to this place with the intention of trying and reviewing two barrel-aged stouts. This was after eight 4-oz. tasters each at Craft Haus and Bad Beat. Decided on Even More Jesus and Bomb! over a Russian Imperial Stout from Joseph James. Was looking forward to finally trying this one. Would be disappointed with anything below a 4.30. Poured a pitch black color with two fingers of frothy tan head. Excellent spiderweb lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled chile peppers, dark roasted chocolate, dark cocoa, vanilla and some hints of coffee. (Smell - 4.25) Tasted milk chocolate, chocolate syrup, cocoa, vanilla, caramel, spices coming in late and brownie batter. (Taste - 4.50) Full body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, slightly spicy warming finish. (Feel - 4.75) This was about as good as I could have hoped. Glad I got to try it and cant wait to have it again. (Overall - 4.50) 4.45 99 A

Small bottle from Elizabeth Station. Pours an almost black with a dark beige head. Aroma is coffee, some vanilla and cocoa, corn flakes. Taste is sweet, pretty the same character, spicy. Good stuff if you like spices in the beer, but I am not a fan.
