Aroma like being stuck in a coffee sludge swamp, at night, while the clouds rain black pepper...you close your eyes and imagine a prairie and can almost smell that too. Open your eyes now to the black coffee mud in a pint glass, its espresso foam head persistent and glossy. Let the taste in...smooth, sour and bitter...yeast and spice...clean even...sparkling like stars and groundbreaking...like discovering dark matter...

Great mix of styles resulting in a complex and pleasing assortment of tastes and smells. A farmhouse stout. Sour coffee, grass, band aids and antiseptic. This is strange, but drinking this beer makes me feel like I'm being prepped for some surgical procedure that will remove all my suffering and make me feel good as new...
Told you it was strange.

Tap at T&P. Pours a very dark color, black with no light escaping. Light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, big hop notes, pine and spice. Flavor is very hoppy, quite bitter with a roasted finish. Maybe a slight bit of funk from the yeast but not overly so. Cool!

Looks amazing -- I’m always a sucker for a thick, uneven head. Aroma is dark and funky but not in your face about it. Something about the flavor combination doesn’t hit it out of the park for me. alexsdad06 (10268) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 14, 2013
750 ml bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pour a hazy cola brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma citrus, earth, grass, some herbal notes, roast, and a nice funk throughout. The flavor has funk, roast, earth, citrus peel, with some bitterness and a hint of dark chocolate. Medium-bodied. Interesting take on a saison.

Sampled at Midwest Belgian Beer Festival. Pours a dark brown color with off white head. Funky, roasty, and some grassy and hoppy notes in the flavor. JStax (6357) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - AUG 11, 2013
750 ml bottle thanks to errl. Pours a dark brown to black with a thick head of khaki foam. The aroma indicates a soft fruity funk and the taste gives way to a musky roast. Bitter finish. wchesser (2071) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 8, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 9, 2013 Complex offering...nose of black licorice, funk, green coffee, and red wine. Taste follows plus dark chocolate and roazst coffee. Medium dark brown with persistent head. Demands attention and truly unique. RobertDale (6383) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - AUG 5, 2013
750 ml. bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a decent brown head. Aroma of funk, malt, and hops. Taste is tart fruit, funk, citrus, florals, and roast. Different for sure. Want to try again. legion242 (2348) - Richardson, Texas, USA - AUG 5, 2013
Poured a very dark brown with a khaki head. Soft nose. Extremely pleasing across the palate.
