Sample @ RBWG Asheville After Party. Gold pour with a small head. Citrus fruits, a bit of Belgian countryside funk. Nice herbal hop character. Bright yeast. Soft straw and citrus. Somewhat chalky. Medium body, soft carbonation. Cool. Brentv (683) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 2, 2014
From bottle. I really wanted to like this, being not far from my home town. Pours hazy yellow with a huge white head. Big funky nose with some citrus. Taste is citrus, hay, barnyard, and funk. cpetrone84 (1810) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 15, 2014
Pour is heavily hazed straw yellow with a tight creamy white head. Nose is heavy grapefruit juice, tropical tartness, tons of hop, notes of leather. taste has lots of grapefruit, moderately bitter, light body. Balance of grainy malt, faintly floral and semi dry with a hint of leather. Brett? Rather hoppy. PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 11, 2014
Bottle at home, shared with and thx to Mathieu87.
APPEARANCE: clouded blond beer, nice stable white head.
NOSE: fruity, hoppy, lytchee, very fresh.
TASTE: very fruity, little sweet, hoppy, very nice! JorisPPattyn (10072) - BELGIUM - JUL 6, 2014
Sampled under less than ideal circumstances B.C."H."; dirty grey-straw beer. Hoppy nose, with exotic fruit, grapes and some cat’s pee; other grains, perfumed soap. Bitterish-wry, again other grains and wild fruit, slightly veggie. Bit of lunaria. Hopimprint less in the flavour than in the nose, that smacks of APA/IPA and Nelson Sauvin, rather than of ’saison’. Bit of grist-slick, light body, carbonation gone. Anything can be called Saison. Doesn’t make it Hainautois for that matter. Many thanks to the Vermeerschbros

Fantastic beer. Has a pleasantness, reminiscent of Saison Dupont, but it’s a bit edgier and funkier. Bright esters of citrus and rind in the finish, along with a peppery bitterness. Slight barnyard funkiness gives it depth. Meadowy aromas in the background. Enjoyed it a lot. ericdevin (988) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - MAY 27, 2014
Bottle from Belmont Station, Portland. Pours a fairly cloudy golden orange, decent amount of white head. Aroma barnyard, citrus. Body very lively, lush, finish almost juicy in citrus character. Nice but not outstanding. MartinT (10036) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 22, 2014
My Bottom Line:TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 25, 2014
Pineapple and various citrus fruit ride this New World Saison’s fluffy effervescence, leading to leveled resinous bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy pale blond.
-Minty, herbal allusions are also created by the hop and yeast tandem.
-Bits of hay are found under the salient hops.
-The bottle conditioning job is excellent.
Pours a nice cloudy golden, with light white foamy head. Barnyard funk, hay, citrus, and grass on the nose. All follow onto the palate. A great example of the style. crajun (1261) - , Texas, USA - APR 8, 2014
another top 50 saison and another avg score - may not be my style. aroma was a mix of barnyard and citrus. nice palate. taste was complex - sweetness and citrus up front - many different citrus then drying finish, white grapes?
