3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 24, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Mike! Pale straw, opaque body with a soapy & frothy, bone white head that leaves nice lacing behind. Aroma is tart lemon, apple, light lime, & a handful of Brett, cotton funk, & some finishing pineapple. Taste is dry funk & Brett, light woody notes with musky cotton & a solid bit of lemon, lime, & tartness. Slight hoppiness in the finish with a touch of old, pineapple-y Brett. Clean, dry finish.
12oz bottle poured into Belgian snifter glass while starting the family reunion weekend at Jackpot Junction. Pour is a hazy, yellow golden color. Almost like a straw or hay coloring. Healthy off white head. Nose is assertive yeasty, funk. There is an almost wine like aroma with just a gentle hint of citrus. Taste is proudly proclaiming its funky intentions as a traditional farmhouse ale. Plenty of that slightly sour, tarty, funky quality you expect from this type of style. Light citrus bitterness that especially makes its presence felt towards the finish of the sip. Relatively thin but heavily drying mouthfeel. Not necessarily my favorite style but I can definitely appreciate the quality. zoucrew102 (1920) - - AUG 5, 2017
500ml bottle. Brett funk aroma with notes of vinous white wine, hay and a bit of citrus. Pours pale clear golden colored with one finger of off white head that has excellent retention and some lacing. Starts with hay and white wine flavors with funk in the background. Finishes very dry with Brett funk coming to the forefront with a touch of citrus to balance. Pretty nice saison. glennmastrange (2883) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - AUG 4, 2017
Bottle. Moderate grain and hay for the malt, moderate to heavy herbs for the hops, moderate dried leaves and dough for the yeast, with notes juicy fruit gum, ginger and a mix of spices. Head is average sized, frothy/creamy, slightly off-white, with good yet slippery lacing, and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky light amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and slightly bitter. Palate is medium, slick, with a fizzy carbonation. Super Saison with a lot going on in the flavor and aroma. MarcoDL (5022) - NETHERLANDS - JUL 31, 2017
