Bottle shared by Phil. Black pour with a tan head. Roasted malt, rum, chocolate, and soap on the nose. Charred wood, some booze, and a touch of vanilla. The flavor is kind of soapy. A bit of booze, rum, and roast. Dark chocolate, hints of vanilla, and charred oak. Maybe a touch of fruit. Kind of disappointing, particularly next to the other variants.

Bottle (12 oz), shared with JulienHuxley thanks! Pitch black with a small brown-beige head leaving little lacing. Aroma is intense with vanilla, roasted malts, rum spiciness, alcohol, chocolate and toffee/caramel. Taste is sweet but the loads of flavors balances it nicely with chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, rum spiciness, toffee/caramel, alcohol and oak. Full body. Moderate carbonation. Thick mouthfeel. Roasted malts, vanilla and caramel finish. Good strong RIS where the rum spiciness blends really well with the thick and flavorful Prairie Pirate stout base. Tasty!

13-MAY-2017, draft @MBCC Red Session, with Ulkløbben. Black with a tan head. Dusty Wood aroma. Taste is Wood, chocolate, rum. Sweet, astringent. Not what I expect from Prairie.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a medium size deep brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of deep sweet roasted malt notes with some chocolate and rum notes are also noticeable. Taste is a mix of sweet black chocolates with some rum notes and light oak notes are also noticeable. Body is full with nice oily texture and good carbonation with some arming alcohol notes. Another intense imperial stout from Prairie.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with small brownish head. Aroma: dark sugary rum, coffee, toffee, milk chocolate, some whiskey notes, hay and wood, some herbs and dry mint. Taste: medium plus sweet, dark berries tipped in chocolate and good rum, warming alcohol, some balancing bitterness in middle taste and then the sweetness come again, woodiness. Maybe too sweet for mine taste but its damn good. Still well well balanced. Full body. Somehow easy to drink for a body and high ABV. Reccomended for rum friends.

superspak (5497) - Michigan, USA - MAR 13, 2017
12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/14/2016. Pours dense pitch black color with a small dense tan head with solid retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty lacing cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, vanilla, coconut, cream, toasted oak, brown sugar, and dark bread; with lighter notes of molasses, rum raisin, fig, date, cherry, licorice, smoke, charcoal, roast/toast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and rum barrel notes; with great strength. Increasing booziness in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, vanilla, coconut, cream, toasted oak, brown sugar, and dark bread; with lighter notes of molasses, rum raisin, fig, date, cherry, licorice, smoke, charcoal, roast/toast/oak earthiness. Light roast/char bitterness and rum/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, vanilla, coconut, cream, toasted oak, brown sugar, dark bread, rum, light dark fruit/molasses, and roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and rum barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and rum/oak spiciness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast bitterness and rum/oak spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly slick/chalky/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. A small pleasant warmth of alcohol from 12%, with minimal barrel booziness. Overall this is an incredible barrel aged imperial stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and rum barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. Incredible stout/barrel balance; never acrid/astringent on roast or tannic/drying on the barrel. A highly enjoyable offering.

BlazerT (1081) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - MAR 8, 2017
Bottle. Teku. Pitch black with tiny, light brown head. Almost no lacing and head retention is poor. Moderate roasted malts aroma, but mainly strong rum notes, along with some vanilla, surprisingly not really boozy. Taste is light heavy sweet with light to moderate bitterness in the end of degustation. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. After warming up slightly boozy, the body could be thicker, but all in all very good brew with strong and delicate rum notes. Nice.
