Bottle shared by Phil. Black pour with a tan head. Roasted malt, rum, chocolate, and soap on the nose. Charred wood, some booze, and a touch of vanilla. The flavor is kind of soapy. A bit of booze, rum, and roast. Dark chocolate, hints of vanilla, and charred oak. Maybe a touch of fruit. Kind of disappointing, particularly next to the other variants.

Pours thick black, tiny lasting lacing. Aroma is vanilla and rum. Taste is rum forward with a nice vanilla chocolate finish. The alcohol will warm you up and makes this a great beer for a cold day, just like today.

Dark black pour with some light coming through opaque edges with one finger of creamy mocha tan head. Nice nose with dark fruit and aged wood, muted chocolate, burnt sugar, and a little caramel. Warming presence in the mouth with dark fruit skins, fig, burnt sugar, chocolate, and soft woody notes. Full round body with a light carbonation.

Aroma: Oak, dark rich chocolate, brown sugar cane, rum soaked raisins. Taste: Dark spiced rum, sweet molasses, liquorice, creamy milk chocolate and a nice espresso bitter finish. Palate: Low carb, thick ncreamy. Overall: Wowza, this is good. Barrel character sits perfectly well with the stout, easy drinking but very complex at the same time.

Bottle bought @ Beergium. Blackish dark brown pour with a small beige head. Malty fruity nose with roasted malts, caramel, vanilla, dark chocolate, raisins in rum, soil and hints of rum alcohol. Sweet, tiny bitter, malty and slightly fruity taste. Soft, round and slightly viscous mouthfeel. Round dark bread, roast, chocolate, vanilla and fruit raisins in rum finish. Very well integrated barrel with plenty of fruity rum and vanilla. Solid bready roasty caramel maltbase. Very good!

Bottle at home. Pours thick, pitch black with almost no head. Aroma of crackers, chocolate, light boozy rum, toasty oak and vanilla. Pretty restrained aroma. Taste is big and bold rum, vanilla, chocolate, sweet molasses. Full bodied and oily texture. The barrels really shine through in this one and it actually might be the best BA rum stout Ive had so far.
