COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

Bottle split with TheRon. Pours hazy yellow with a great, fluffy white head. Quite the sexy looking beer. Definitely get the bretts on the nose, grassy, earthy, and a hint of vinegar. Lively carbonation gives a great mouthfeel. Flavor is light, tart, fruity, and clean. Finishes dry and does not linger. Pretty damn nice.

It poured a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma was quite a bit of citrus and fruit on the front end with a little bit of tartness. The taste was a bright citrus front end with some of the funk and dryness in the finish. Good stuff.

A softly hazed sunny yellow body presents a few streamers of small bubbles traveling towards a delicate frothy white one inch head which quickly dissipates leaving a short peninsula and a few spots of lace

Clean lemony citrus shines over sweet pineapple notes with earthy characteristics of damp hay trailing in on a light, smooth, mildly carbonated body, slightly tart, a touch of creamy froth finishing out, lemon meringue pie comes to mind, residuals of smooth pepper, light lemon zest, and a hint of herbal spice drying the palate, very pleasant with well orchestrated components

16.9oz bottle at 45º and warming into Stölzle spritzer goblet

Young bottle pours a slightly hazy gold yellow with frothy white fizz. The aroma is musty malts, some wheat noticeable, feint mustard Belgian funk. The flavor is a nice Smith grainy Belgian golden strong ale with a light musty earthy grain complimented by a very smooth near creamy body and carbonation. There is a pepper/wheat spice that is in the front with a drying apricot white wine like touch to the Belgian funk and lasting grain. There are quite a bit off hops adding a freshness and depth, light sweet lemon with some dried grassy and floral tones. For a somewhat modest beer this is done very well. Thank you prairie ales, everything you’ve done is solid.

Bottle from Tipples. Had this right after Eliza5beth. Pours clear golden with a big fluffy head. Aroma of Bretty yeast funk, pilsner malts, some tartness, lemon rinds, musty pepperyness. Flavor is Brett funk up front, a super interesting taste of a mouthful of flower petals and peat, Chardonnay, lots going on here and not like anything I have tried before. Light bodied with high carbonation. Very interesting brew and I really can’t put my finger on the strange flavors in the mid palate of this one. Definitely worth trying.

Bottle. Extremely hazy gold with a thick white head. Almost looks more like cider. Aroma is saison yeast, apricot and rubber. Taste adds light pineapple notes, pepper and some citrus. Clean, dry and fizzy palate. Good.

Bottle from Proof. Hazy deep golden pour with a large rocky white head. Spicy yeast aroma, citrusy hops, hay, sourdough, white pepper, spicy flavor with funkiness with touches of pears. Spicy flavor with coriander seeds, pears, sourdough yeast funk and a healthy dose of citrus. Fuller bodied than most saisons with lively carbonation. Very solid.
