COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

Pours straw like golden color, haze, with stable white foamy head. Visually high carbonation. Aroma: champagne like aroma, with notes of grape, wine vinegar, hints of spicy and florals (saaz hops). Flavor: moderate malt flavor, with noticable wheat malt (banana like esters), supported with spicy and floral notes of hops and peppers. Taste is firstly malty sweet, suddenly become tart, sour, with champagne like character, and with very dry, slightly bittersweet, sour, peppery finish. Dryness lingers long in aftertaste. Body is medium, texture is smooth, carbonation is high. Alcohol warmth is surprisingly noticable and higher as I suspected.

Average, moderate sweet, moderate bitter, moderate acidic and salty finish. Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Light alcoholic, light astringent finish. Complex and just lovely.

Bottle. . Pours pale yellow with unfiltered suspended sediment and a wholly lasting white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma of Brett and Coriander. Flavor follows nose along with a bit of alcohol. Medium body, fizzy carbo at the start but to appreciate the brew it needs to sit and let some of the carbonation subside. Lots of alcohol in the finish.

A funky and slightly hoppy saison. A touch prickly in the feel, with pronounced yeast and fruitiness as well. Good stuff.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge, Oslo. Pours a clear golden body with a large, short-lasting white head. Nose is sweet saison esters, mild barnyard notes, white sugar, red fruits, citric peel, muscat grapes and hints of straw, pale malts and hay. Taste is red fruits, bretty stable notes, whites sugar, citric peel, pale malts, straw and hints of muscat grapes, wine gum and yellow apples. Medium body, high carbonation. Nice and complex saison with loads of both sweet estery tones and balancing citric-farmhouse funk to balance it. Well done Prairie.
