COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Ale is our classic saison. We brew this beer with pilsner malt, wheat malt, flaked wheat, and cane sugar. A healthy dose of saaz hops are used to add a spicy element to the beer. Prairie Ale is fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, and brettanomyces. Notes of black pepper and pineapple can be found in this beer.

Large, fizzy, white, mostly diminishing head, fair lacing. Murky, medium yellow body. Moderate malty aroma, with notes of bread, cookie and hay. Moderate hoppy aroma, with notes of flowers and orange. Heavy yeasty aroma, with notes of brett, sweat, barnyard, soap and cheese. Notes of apple, pear, butter, brown sugar, ginger, vanilla, pepper and licorice. Moderate sweet, moderate bitter and moderate acidic initial flavor. Average, moderate sweet, moderate bitter, moderate acidic and salty finish. Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Light alcoholic, light astringent finish. Complex and just lovely.

Bottle. . Pours pale yellow with unfiltered suspended sediment and a wholly lasting white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma of Brett and Coriander. Flavor follows nose along with a bit of alcohol. Medium body, fizzy carbo at the start but to appreciate the brew it needs to sit and let some of the carbonation subside. Lots of alcohol in the finish.

A funky and slightly hoppy saison. A touch prickly in the feel, with pronounced yeast and fruitiness as well. Good stuff.

Hazy golden color with a huge white head. Aroma is peppery and a little yeasty. Flavor is a little spicy with strong pepper and coriander. Just a little tart in the finish, minimal influence from the Brett.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge, Oslo. Pours a clear golden body with a large, short-lasting white head. Nose is sweet saison esters, mild barnyard notes, white sugar, red fruits, citric peel, muscat grapes and hints of straw, pale malts and hay. Taste is red fruits, bretty stable notes, whites sugar, citric peel, pale malts, straw and hints of muscat grapes, wine gum and yellow apples. Medium body, high carbonation. Nice and complex saison with loads of both sweet estery tones and balancing citric-farmhouse funk to balance it. Well done Prairie.

Minha primeira Prairie.

500 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, gradually diminishing fluffy white head, over an effervescent, hazy, yellow (SRM 3) body......nose is moderately spicy with clove, allspice notes, light citrus with lemon, orange, then pineapple, light cereal malts, big barnyard with light urine, slight herbal hops......taste is slightly sweet, with lemon, orange tones, pineapple notes, mild spices, light malts, light barnyard funk, finishing moderately hop bitter, with light black pepper.....mouth feel, light of medium body, slight alcohol, high carbonation. The yeast characteristics are ever so slightly off style, suggesting a need to change at least one of the three yeasts. That written, this is a quite enjoyable example of this broad style.
