COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prairie Gold is a dry, highly effervescent saison fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, lactobacillus and 2 strains of brettanomyces. 500 ml bottle from the Craft Beer Cellar - Fort Collins. Huge gusher, probably lost over half of the beer. Hazy yellow appearance with a white head. Funky, mild sour aroma with barnyard, white wine, light citrus and wild yeast. Similar flavor, pretty refreshing and easy to drink with a tart finish. Too bad I lost half of it..

0.5 l bottle at RBBWG 2016 in Antwerpen. Hazy, straw yellow with a white head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy aroma of lemon, grapefruit, white grapes and pomelo. Fruity-grassy, slightly bitter taste of straw, pomelo, gooseberry and grapefruit, followed by a short, slightly bitter, fruity-grassy finish. Medium body, spritzy and slightly astringent mouthfeel. Nice!

650 ml. bottle shared @ RBBWG V. GUSHER. Murky golden citrus, little white head. Nose is awful, salt, sweet, spoiled, rotting sweet, wet dog, worst brett etc. profile imaginable. Hugely fizzy body & taste, taste is a bit better than the smell but still not too good, watery, cooked vegetable, dirty brett, herbal, thin watery rubbish. I really should stop buying Prairie beers, I keep saying but seriously, dude. I dont get these high scores.

Bottle from Kihoskh. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, white wine, lemon and bretty. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and light acidic finish. A bit underwhelming. 030216

Beer throttles out from the bottle, into the glass. Hazy, pale and bit of white foam. Cloudy. Nose has sone berries, funky. Barnyard. Some acidity. Taste is sour but there is also strong barley grain taste over there. Sour wild berries, cloudberries. Aftertaste is dry, bit of berries. Very refreshing brew, subtle in its funky and sour character. Close to saison.

750 ml bottle that I think I purchased at The Party Source when Prairie was just starting to show up here. It pours a lightly clouded yellow-gold with a small white head that disappears quickly and leaves nothing behind. This is so clean and white wine-like, with white grapes, lemon, lime, grass, straw, oak, and a very light, effervescent funk. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and a tart, bright, vinous mouthfeel. Definitely a wine-inspired offering from Prairie.
