Full of chocolate/coffee flavor. Super dark and easy drinking. Very smooth with incredible nose and finish
12 oz bottle in with the lineup of the other variances. Pours out black topped with a small tan head. Nose is Chocolat coffee rollos and bourbon barrel vanilla. Shared at the Prairie Everything Dark/Kill Your Liver Extravaganza at Jeff’s House on July 1. 12 oz bottle, 2013 vintage (I think this is batch 1). The pour is a darker muddy light black color with a thin ring of dark brown head that vanishes pretty quickly. The aroma is heavy roasted malt and whiskey barrel. Holy lord is this thing boozy. There is a light chocolate and a sharpness about it. The flavor is much of the same. The whiskey and oak is huge with a light chocolate and that sharp charred maltiness. It’s interesting. There is a little bit of cardboard and oxidation. The mouth feel is sharp and crisp-ish with a brighter carbonation and a lingeringly boozy and sharp alcohol on the finish. Bottle shared at the Prairie Stout Extravaganza. Aroma is roasted malt, slight tart, chocolate maybe, past prime. Appearance is dark dark brown, very little head, poured thin. Taste is roasted malt, vanilla, coffee, slight bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, coffee roasted malt slight booze aftertaste. Aroma: lots of bourbon but not too overwhelming; Appearance; pitch black with tan head that dissipates slowly; Taste: bourbony, malty, coffee, boozy; Palate: very heavy body with long, bourbony finish; Overall: very nice, but a tad harsh. Would get again though.

Jet black pour with a very thin espresso head that fades quick. Aroma is full of chocolate and wood with just a hint of whiskey. Huge mouthfeel, very thick. Taste is sweet, chocolate and whiskey. Black pour from 12oz bottle. Whipped cream and cocoa marshmallow aroma. Tastes like a milk dud - malty and milky. Delicious.
