Pours into a teku showing a clear honey yellow with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows a lot of round sweet malts with noticeable soft lemon zest background. Hints of pineapple also. The palate is medium carbonated and very light bodied. First impression shows a lot of nice lemon zest and a strong farmhouse background. The mid palate reveals a few more citrus flavors including a bit of grapefruit. Very light bitterness on the finish. Simple & refreshing.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2015 Bottle @ beer tasting on 1/31/2015. Pours hazy light golden in color with minimal bubbly effervescent head. Aroma is tart citrus, yeasty funk, and hints of wood. Medium body, nice carbonation with some trub-like particulate. Taste is lemon, white grape, oak and funky yeast elements nicely balanced. Very drinkable saison and the barrel aging adds a nice dimension.

Idiosynkrasie (7432) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JAN 25, 2015
500ml bottle. Slightly hazy, golden colour with small to average, thick, frothy to cremay, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Dry, tart-ish, yeasty aroma, notes of barnyard funk, piss, sherbet, vinegar, hints of oak. Taste is minimally tart, dry, slightly citrusy hoppy, yeasty, fruity, some lemon, apple, a touch of vinegar; relatively light body, almost a bit watery. Too clean, sober, engineer’d.

750 ml bottle shared by Roger - thanks again! Pours a hazy, dull yellowish old gold with a bubbly white ring for a head. Visible yeast floaters throughout, some of which were bright orange. Aroma of wheat, lemon, pear, sourdough, straw, minerals, and lactic funk. Tart and funky. The flavor is less tart, and more vinous, citrusy, and weighty. Medium-bodied, heavier than expected, with a smooth, fruity mouthfeel and low carbonation. Another good, interesting saison from Prairie.

Poured from bottle, pours a clear bright gold with lots of carvonation bubbles and a thin white head, aroma has lots of funkiness with a lot of white wine and oak notes coming through, flavor has a light tart front end with a fruity finish with a touch of oak dryness, fresh and bright, nice stuff, also a shelf turd around here so that’s pretty awesome.

Bottle: The aroma consists of light-moderate sweet tarts, citrus, and light lemon. It pours a hazy dull gold with a small white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a very fine ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of tropical fruit and citrus. The finish has light-moderate lemon/orange peel, light florals, oak, faint apple, and a touch of sweet tarts. It’s light bodied with light carbonation.

tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - DEC 29, 2014
Bottle: Thanks, Jeff. Hazy, bright straw & pear colored. Kind of yellow. Soapy white head that fizzes out into a super thin collar in just moments. Aroma of lemon, green apple, farmhouse must, light oak, vinous white grape, & some damp bales of hay. Flavor is more on the vinous side of things with a strong white grape wine-like essence & some semi-acidic, tannic oak notes that flow through with a slight bit of boozy heat. Lighter notes of grape, lemon, lacto yeast, & mild hay. White wine finish with some oaky dryness.
