At Jupiter during Sour Sunday 2014.
Hazy brownish with a medium head. A bit on the sweet side with dark fruit, cookies, caramel and some very light spicy notes. Also some notes of oak. Balanced and with a full mouthfeel. Some warming alcohol in the finish.

Pours dark brown with eggshell head. Aroma is subtle chocolate, tootsie roll, sourness but seems off. Taste is slightly sweet chocolate, dark fruit, tart/sourness dominating the backend. Thin mouthfeel. Got better with some air, reminded me of a porter I brewed once that was infected, but I’m sure thats what they were going for here. Bottle. Clear brown color with light tan head. Vanilla, dry wood, rich dark caramel, light alcohol aromas. Medium bodied. Mildly tart dark fruits, wood tannin flavors with a rich dark caramel, vanilla sweetness___good. theisti (4205) - Kansas, USA - JAN 28, 2014
500 ml waxed and capped bottle received from my in-laws as a Christmas gift. The pour is a hazed brown, opaque with a small town head. The aroma is cocoa powder sweet along with roast and a soft hint of soy. A bit of the oak wood comes out as the beer warms. The taste is sharp almost acidic bitter roastiness up front, followed by a fruit prune element and then moving towards the cocoa flavors of the nose The beer finishes with warming alcohol. Nicely integrated flavors. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with active carbonation and a bit of an oily slick mouth feel. The alcohol warms, but doesn’t distract. Solid. Fruitcake in a glass. Glad to taste. Too bad there might be a problem with infection. Smells great. Tastes great. Hope they do this again! jimhilt (2626) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 23, 2014
Pours a three-finger cream/beige head that fades slowly to a ring leaving some lace. Deep opaque brown color, ton of yeast left in bottle. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Dark fruit and oak nose. Flavor is dark fruit, oak, vinous grapes; high ABV is mostly hidden. Decent old ale. Pricey at $13.50 for a 500ml bottle from a Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, ME. And first bottle from Oklahoma after 3400 bottles.
