Shared at the Prairie Everything Dark/Kill Your Liver Extravaganza at Jeff’s House on July 1. 12 oz bottle. The pour is a nice medium black with a thicker light brown head and a couple spots of lace. The aroma is really good. There is a heavy molasses and cinnamon gingerbread thing happening. It’s like a cookie. The chocolate and light coffee exist. A hint of whiskey and oak with a touch of vanilla just bring it all together on the finish. The flavor is just as good. The coffee and chocolate work well up front with a light whiskey and vanilla developing. The finish is just like a molasses cinnamon gingerbread cookie. This is fantastic. The mouth feel is heavy and chewy with a soft carbonation and a lingering spiciness and a great chocolate and coffee. Bottle shared at the Prairie Stout Extravaganza. Aroma is cinnamon, ginger, whiskey, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, amazing. Appearance is dark dark brown, light brown head, poured thickish. Taste is cinnamon, gingerbread, whiskey barrel, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, awesome. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy body, light carbonation, cinnamon ginger whiskey barrel aftertaste. Bottled. 2017 vintage I believe. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is cinnamon, xmas spices, pepper, vanilla, tons of bourbon, chocolate. Just everything I want this beer to be. It has tons of whiskey without dropping on the spices. It’s basically what I wish barrel-aged bomb was. Flavor is cinnamon galore, more xmas spices, pepper, vanilla, bourbon. Bottle sample @RB Best. Pours opaque black, small tan head that dissipates slowly leaving good lacing. Aroma is bourbon, chocolate, cinnamon, spices, vanilla, cocoa, light chili pepper. Flavor is light bitter, really sweet, light chili spice. The bourbon comes through strong but does not destroy the cinnamon and chili pepper notes. If anything the coffee is what gets left behind in this BA masterpiece.
